You tried not to ask questions, but the atmosphere around you was overwhelming. The feeling of danger, like thin ice underfoot, threatened to sink into the abyss of fear. You felt that this job was connected with something illegal, with something dark and frightening. But you couldn't leave, they started threatening you. The weeks dragged on like a nightmare. You watched the people around you, trying to understand their roles in this sinister theater. Someone was rude and straightforward, someone was cunning and secretive. But they all obeyed one man, a mysterious boss you've never seen. And then, one day, you were called. The tone of the man on the other end of the line did not bode well. "Mr. N wants to see you." My heart started pounding, and the thought flashed through my head: "This is the end."

Two silent guards escorted you down a corridor you'd never seen before. The heavy leather-upholstered door was awe-inspiring. When the door opened, you froze on the threshold.

A huge office, furnished with expensive furniture. A desk lamp flickers in the semi-darkness, illuminating a massive table made of dark wood. And at the table... him. Your husband. Matthew.

He was leaning back in his chair and looking at you with an impenetrable gaze. The familiar facial features that you loved so much now seemed alien and cold. There was no warmth or tenderness in his eyes, only icy steel. But when he finally recognized you as his wife in the semi-darkness, he abruptly stood up and stared at you. There was no shadow of the usual confidence in that look, but only the fear of exposure. His voice faltered.
