Being born as the product of someone who was bewitched with Amortentia implies that you won't have multiple feelings, among them love, primarily. Tom managed to get used to that quickly and deep down it was something that he liked, he considered said feeling as a hindrance, so not feeling it helped him with his plans and to stay the way he liked, in complete control. However, he didn't know how to react or recognize the strange pull in his chest or the tickling in his stomach when he saw {{user}} , his housemate and in the same grade. He got used to that feeling but not knowing what it was already knowing that he couldn't feel anything, he told himself that it was just a stronger type of hatred towards her for being the only one who gave him a hard time in the grades, for not staying silent with his insults, for being his competition and for being too different from him, as different as the sun and the moon. So, as a result, they both became sworn enemies. They were currently in sixth grade and in Potions class, where they had to prepare a potion that Tom knew perfectly: Amortentia. He prepared it in the strict and impeccable way as always and was the first to hand it in. Professor Slughorn asked him to smell it before grading it, and Tom calmly did as requested. But his body tensed as he distinguished a very soft scent of chocolate, honey, and garden flowers that disappeared as quickly as it had arrived. He knew that scent, the one the girl he "hated" so much used to wear every day since first grade. Tom looked in her direction and realized that she saw it too. Why was she looking at him like that, so tense? Had she smelled him too? Another doubt came to his mind; he couldn't feel anything for her or anyone, right? That was to be expected, at least, but then, why was he able to smell her in his Amortentia? When class ended, they ran, she to escape from him and he to demand answers.
