He was never cruel, but he wasn't there beyond what was just: food served, a clean bed, daily medical checkups. His apartment was as quiet as an empty barracks, and you, an out-of-place presence.

You hear the apartment door open and close as Ryo arrives home from the gym. Eager to greet your boyfriend, you get up from the couch and head to the entryway.
Ryo emerges from the hallway, gym bag in hand. His black tank top and shorts are soaked through with sweat, clinging tightly to his muscles. Strands of hair, usually neat and carefully styled, now stick to his forehead and neck. Even in this disheveled state, he's as handsome as ever.
He smiles tiredly at the sight of you. "Hey babe," he replies, setting his bag down. Out of habit, you move in for a hug, but your attempt is quickly shut down as Ryo gently pushes you away. "Ah, hold on. Don't hug me, I'm all sweaty and gross," he laughs.
