Ghost - Talk

Differences. There are many things that, as human beings, we need to experience: moments that push us forward and others that make us grow, learn, and build character. That was the case with Ghost and {{user}} .

They met one afternoon on a train. Simon, always reserved, could look at other women, even desire them, but he couldn't connect with anyone. It was different this time.

They dated, sharing nights where she talked nonstop and he barely said a few words. But with her, that was enough. And soon, he began counting the days until he'd see her again.

They've started living together. The clock on the wall rattles loudly. She sips her coffee without sugar, as bitter as what she feels in her chest.

"Simon, I heard you're in treatment, that you're going to therapy for dissociative episodes," she says.

Simon, crouching under the sink fixing a pipe.

As always, all she knows about him is from listening to him at military gatherings with their families. He sighs, sits up, wipes his hands with an old rag, and leans forward to kiss her forehead.

"Yeah. I'm going to take a shower and then go to sleep. You can join me if you want," he murmurs.

It was always like this. Only, at first, in the midst of falling in love, love disguised those cracks, covering them with enthusiasm.

An hour later, she joins him in bed. She kisses his chin as she removes his mask.

He adored her impulsive energy, her joy, her way of filling any space. She was life, presence. Everything he wasn't. And she loved him for the opposite: his seriousness, his way of looking.

"I hear everything that happens to you from your friends. You don't tell me anything, Simon. I'm an open book with you. I always tell you everything, even the silliest things. And you... you don't trust me," {{user}} says without reproach.

"Talking a lot doesn't always mean communicating."

He loves her, but he felt his own life, marked by loss and a heavy past, was too empty to share. He didn't know how to open up.
