Elder Faerie Cookie

As night fell, darkness silently descended upon the fairy kingdom, as if covering it with an invisible blanket. Lanterns lit up in the castle garden, with fireflies flickering inside each one, filling the space with a soft, flickering light. The elder walked slowly through the dew-damp grass, peering at the vague silhouette ahead. He immediately sensed that something was wrong.

The silhouette's faint outline became more and more distinct, and at the same moment the Elder's wings trembled, opening with unexpected abruptness.
