U.A. High School (Part 1):

U.A. High School (雄ゆう英えい高こう校こう, Yūei Kōkō?) is an academy that boasts the best heroics education in Japan. It sits atop a forested hill that overlooks Musutafu.

U.A. is the #1 ranked high school for heroics and is considered as the top Hero Academy in Japan. Students are separated based on their abilities into specific Departments and Classes - A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, and K.

As stated by Shota Aizawa, U.A. does not adhere to traditional school methods, and allows their staff to teach their classes however they like. This includes teachers having the authority to expel any student(s) at any time and for any reason, no matter how minor.[1] Furthermore, students who are expelled can be re-enrolled, although the expulsion will still remain on their permanent records.[2]

U.A. is renowned for having trained and produced some of the best heroes in Japan, including All Might, Endeavor and Best Jeanist,[3] all of whom earned their way into the top 10 of Japan's Hero Rankings.

Once a year, U.A. holds a tournament called the U.A. Sports Festival, which has become a nationwide event that is watched by people and heroes from all around the country. Students from all departments are allowed to participate, and it is a chance for heroes in training to show off what they can do for Pro Heroes in the audience, increasing their chances of possible internships or recruitment. It is also the opportunity for other students to gain admittance into the Hero Course, as well as for students from the Support and Business courses to promote their support items and further develop their business sense, respectively.

U.A High School (Part 2):

U.A. also holds an annual School Festival where classes from all departments create a range of activities and events for everyone to watch and participate in. This gives the students and staff alike the chance to unwind and have fun. It is also usually opened to the public, although the most recent one unfortunately wasn't due to villain activity.

Like many schools, each class in U.A. has a class representative and vice class representative. While these positions would usually just mean extra work, they are quite coveted in the Hero course, as they are a way for students to prove their leadership capabilities to Hero Agencies. The class representatives are up for the students themselves to decide upon, although it's suggested that they handle them democratically, through an election process for example.

U.A. was originally a day school, but due to the increased villain activity in Japan, it was later turned into a boarding school with dormitories. Students were required to live on campus for their own safety, and could not leave the grounds without making an official written request.

U.A. executes a six-day school week where the only day off is Sunday.

Security Systems:

At the entrance, there is a security wall nicknamed the "U.A. Barrier" that automatically closes if a person trying to enter the premises does not have a Student ID Card or Special Entry Permission ID. Many such precautions have been made to keep out villains and members of the press.

Departments:

All Departments Japanese, math, science, and foreign languages, among other subjects, are all compulsory subjects. Students in every department study these core subjects and will change year by year.[6]

Department of Heroes Students learn everything they need to know to become excellent heroes in service of the community and work towards the qualifications necessary to be allowed to use their Quirks in public spaces. They are trained in battle, first aid, and all manner of heroics-related lessons.[6] Ordinary subjects, such as English, take place in the morning, followed by lunch. Then, in the afternoon, Heroics classes take place.[12]

Entry into the Hero Course requires applicants to under a practical exam in addition to the written exam. During the practical, applicants use their Quirks to fight robotic mock villains and are awarded combat points for each robot they destroy, as well as rescue points for heroic behavior.

These students belong to Classes A and B

Department of General Education Students who don't make the cut for the hero department are included in this department. It boasts a top-notch education with an eclectic lineup of teachers. The department of general education supports students aiming for college and other pursuits. It is also possible for students with exceptional grades to be transferred to the hero department.

These students belong to Classes C, D, and E.

Department of Support Students in this department focus on developing support equipment that help heroes out on the battlefield. With a workspace stocked to the brim with all sorts of special tools, the department provides an unmatched creative environment.

These students belong to Classes F, G, and H.

Department of Management This department focuses on all aspects of heroic business, from the founding and managing hero agencies to promotion of public opinion regarding heroes. They even do hands-on lessons in venture capitalism.

Theses students belong to Classes I, J, and K.

Uniforms:

Uniforms The U.A. High School student uniform consists of a long-sleeve, button-up white shirt, a gray blazer with blue-green stripes on the collar and hem of the sleeves, and a red tie. The boys uniform includes dark blue-green pants, while the girls uniform includes a dark blue-green pleated skirt, and a small, golden button on their ties.

Each department has a different orientation of buttons on the shoulders of the uniform jacket; the Hero course having one button on each shoulder, the Support course having two, General Studies having two with a button gap between them, and Management having three buttons on each shoulder.

The U.A. P.E. uniform is a pair of dark blue pants with white vertical lines going up the legs and a dark blue short sleeve shirt with white lines that form the letters 'U' and 'A'. The winter variation of the gym uniform consists of a long-sleeved shirt with a higher collar.

U.A Staff:

Principal Nezu: Nezu (根ね津づ, Nedzu?), also known as Mr. Principal, is a Pro Hero and the principal of U.A. High School. He is an extremely rare case of an animal who manifested a Quirk.

Appearance: Nezu is a small stout creature who appears to be a possible combination of several different animals, including a dog, a mouse, and a bear, which would make him a chimera. He has the head of a mouse with circular black eyes, a large scar over the right one, relatively rectangular-shaped ears with pale pink insides slanting outwards from the top of his head, and an elongated muzzle with a small round nose. His fur is white and has large, dog-like paws with pink pads and a thin tail like that of a cat.

He sports a white dress shirt, a dark red tie around his neck, a black double-breasted waistcoat and matching dress pants. He wears orange lace-up sneakers with incredibly thick soles which seem to be quite large on him

Personality: As befitting to his role as principal of an academy for heroes, Nezu is an eccentric, polite, and persistent educator. He is quite self-aware of his odd appearance and introduces himself by pointing it out.

He can be very long-winded at times when explaining or educating. Nezu composed an entire lecture on his educational theories concerning the balance between hero and instructor, which he happily spoke of over tea with All Might. His dedication to educating goes as far as assessing villains, especially young ones, and wondering if they could be put on the right path if they were taught, although he admits the naivety of the idea

Nezu's Skills:

Enhanced Senses: As an animal (be it a dog, mouse, or bear), Nezu has above average senses of hearing and smell.

Tea Brewing: Nezu loves a good cup of tea and knows how to make it.

Industrial Crane Driving: During the First Term Final Exam, Nezu used a giant wrecking ball to create chain reaction destruction to combat Mina Ashido and Denki Kaminari.

Strategy: Thanks to the great intelligence bestowed by his Quirk, Nezu is an exceptional strategist who is able to execute complicated plans in a short manner of time. This is best seen during his Final Exam fight against Mina and Denki, where he utilized a large crane to destroy their surroundings and send rubble down around them, forcing both students to flee in panic. Predicting their movements, Nezu destroyed the structures to create chain reactions that would in turn block off all their exits apart from only one. This method forced them to focus on evading the destruction rather than seeking the remaining escape gate, which resulted in them both failing the practical battle due to their time limit expiring.

Security Planning and Management: As the Principal of U.A. High School, Nezu is in charge of maintaining the school's advanced security system. Most notably the U.A. Barrier that will trigger large walls to rise up and seal off the entrance should anyone try to enter the school without a student ID or visitor pass. Following the Paranormal Liberation War, Nezu makes several advancements to U.A.'s security, such as converting the grounds into shelters that are able to move into an underground network and transport to different safe areas, essentially viewing the school's system as a game board. Additionally, between the surface and the underground shelters are three thousand layers of bulwark plates, that are able to separate and delay attacks should the school's system detect anything out of the ordinary. Furthermore, as a precautionary measure against Himiko Toga's Quirk, people who seek refuge at U.A.

Nezu's Quirk:

High Specs (ハイスペック, Hai Supekku?): Nezu's Quirk grants him a high level of intelligence that surpasses that of humans. Nezu's Quirk enables him to live freely like a normal person, despite being an animal.

U.A Staff #2:

Recovery Girl: Chiyo Shuzenji (修しゅう善ぜん寺じ治ち与よ, Shūzenji Chiyo?),[1] also known as Youthful Heroine: Recovery Girl (妙齢ヒロイン リカバリーガール, Myōrei Hiroin Rikabarī Gāru?),[4] is a nurse at U.A. High School. She has two offices; one located in U.A. and one in the Sports Festival Stadium.

Appearance: Chiyo is a short, elderly woman with gray hair styled into a netted bun, a large syringe poking diagonally out of it to the left. She has a notably small nose and eyes which are usually drawn as two little dashes, and a long mouth with defined nasolabial folds.

She wears a doctor's lab coat and a dress with yellow and red vest-like designs on either side, two yellow buttons, and a belt with a pink "R"-shaped buckle. She wears pink boots and has a helmet around the sides of her head, a purple-tinted visor joining it over her eyes. In addition, she walks with a cane designed like a syringe that she can also use for healing the injured.

Personality: Chiyo has a kind and compassionate personality, where she treats everyone kindly, as she is usually shown giving her patients sweets to help their energy levels rise from her Quirk's stamina draining effects. Despite this, she does have a strict and reproaching attitude towards foolish behavior that can lead to injuries. She's mostly like this with All Might for not teaching Izuku Midoriya how to use his Quirk properly or with Izuku for using his Quirk recklessly and injuring himself in the process. She eventually refuses to heal Izuku's injuries caused by One For All to prevent this habit from becoming an ongoing cycle, and encourages Izuku to find another way to master his Quirk's power without leading to self-injury.

She can also be quite harsh and critical, as she rebuked Present Mic for being defeated by a swarm of bugs during his practical battle in the First Term Final Exam, despite his entomophobia.

Recovery Girl Skills:

Medical Expertise: After the battle between Izuku and Shoto Todoroki, Izuku's hand was too damaged to be healed by Recovery Girl's Quirk alone, so she had to perform surgery. This suggests that she is actually a professional doctor with proper knowledge of medical science.

Quirk:

Heal (癒いやし, Iyashi?): Chiyo's Quirk allows her to amplify and speed up the human body's natural healing process by planting a kiss on the injured person. The process is fueled by a large amount of life energy that comes from the recipient and could potentially drain enough energy to kill said recipient. She also seems to be able to stretch her lips to an abnormal length.

With this Quirk, she is able to quickly heal broken bones and several limbs in a matter of seconds. She can control how much a person's healing factor is boosted, not healing the recipient completely, but leaving them with more remaining stamina than they would have had otherwise.

Despite its power, this Quirk cannot heal or completely heal injuries that are too severe. In addition, Heal cannot regrow lost body parts.

U.A Staff #3:

Toshinori Yagi: Toshinori Yagi (八や木ぎ俊とし典のり, Yagi Toshinori?), also known as All Might (オールマイト, Ōru Maito?), is the former No. 1 Pro Hero who bore the title of the world's Symbol of Peace (平和の象徴, Heiwa no Shōchō?). He taught Foundational Hero Studies at U.A. High School.

All Might was the eighth holder of the One For All Quirk after receiving it from Nana Shimura. He has since passed the torch onto Izuku Midoriya, whom he is training to be his successor. After using up all the embers of One For All to defeat All For One, All Might retired and ended his era as the world's greatest hero.

Appearance: In his empowered form, Toshinori is a towering figure with a muscular and well-defined physique, resembling a classic Western comic book superhero. He has chiseled facial features, including a strong jawline, pronounced cheekbones, and bushy eyebrows. His short blond hair is swept backward, with two distinct tufts that stick up slightly to each side. His robust features often cast a shadow over his face, revealing only his striking blue eyes.

Toshinori's Golden Age hero costume consists of a skin-tight blue bodysuit adorned with a red symbol that resembles a "Y." At its center is a white diamond, with white lines extending from it across his chest and tracing along his back to his shoulders. These lines are trimmed with the same red used in the symbol, which appears to have wings on either side, extending from the top of his torso and tapering off around his back. Large white patches lined with red cover each of his hips, extending down to his lower thighs. He wears a gold belt with a silver buckle featuring red eyes. His forearm sleeves are gold, decorated with white lines and blue accents over his wrists, complemented by spiked fins on the sides of his arms. Additionally, his feet are clad in shin-length gold boots trimmed with white and red accents.

Appearance of All Might's true form:

In his true form, after sustaining permanent damage from All For One, Toshinori's declining health reduced him to a very skinny man with sharp, angular features and long limbs, his neck extended, his eyebrows absent and the sclera of his eyes turned black. His hair is wavy, with two long strands coming down from his hairline and framing his face. He possesses a large scar covering most of the left side of his chest, having lost his stomach and some of his lungs' respiratory system. It is common for him to spout blood from his mouth when excited or surprised. He typically wears baggy clothing to accommodate the change in body mass between forms, but after Toshinori's tenure as a hero, he starts wearing clothes that fit him in his regular form, as he no longer needs big clothes that fit his muscle form.

Personality:

All Might's hero persona appears to be derived from comic book superhero stereotypes: exuberant and filled with dramatic flair. He always protects and saves innocent people with a huge smile. The habit of smiling was ingrained in him by his mentor, Nana Shimura, who believed that the ones who smile are the ones who are the strongest. Though he can sometimes be annoying, All Might is highly amicable due to his popularity and years in the spotlight, always taking his time to interact with fans.

Once All Might reverts to his true form, he becomes reserved and solemn, avoiding attention in direct contrast to the grandiosity of his hero identity. While he's an optimist, he still ensures his goals are grounded in reality. When a Quirkless Izuku tells him about his goal of becoming a hero, All Might commends him for having a dream but reminds him to stay realistic and suggests he enter another profession that helps people. He considered the harsh words necessary to save the boy from long-term frustration. In this form, he frequently vomits blood to indicate his fragile health, although it might happen if he is surprised or amused. Regardless of which form All Might is currently taking, two personality traits always present in him are his optimism and oafishness.

All Might's Abilities:

Overall Abilities: In addition to officially ranked of the Number 1 hero of Japan, All Might was also well-recognized as the strongest and greatest hero in the world. He was the "Symbol of Peace" and such a deterrent against crime that villains were primarily discouraged by his presence in society, single-handedly bringing near-absolute stability throughout Japan, a stark contrast to the rest of the world. He defeated All For One, infamously known as the world's most powerful villain, twice, a feat that all the previous wielders of One For All could not. Despite winning, All Might suffered a gruesome injury at the hands of All For One that limited his maximum power output going forward, gradually reducing his sheer might and how long he could use his power.

Trained Muscles: Usage of One For All requires the user to have strong muscles, as One For All is a lot to handle and could cause the user's body to be blown apart if they don't possess the necessary body strength. Gran Torino said that All Might, in particular, had a strong body that allowed him to master One For All much faster than previous users.

Former Quirk:

One For All (ワン・フォー・オール, Wan Fō Ōru?): Transferred to him from Nana Shimura, Toshinori's Quirk allowed him to stockpile an enormous amount of raw power, significantly enhancing all of his physical abilities to a superhuman level, resulting in unbelievable feats of strength, speed, agility, and durability. Unlike other known users of this Quirk, Toshinori was noted to have an innate instinct for wielding it, mastering it almost instantly with no aid from his teachers. Also, seemingly unique to him, Toshinori's mastery of this Quirk enabled him to morph himself into a towering, powerfully built man to hide his identity from society.

U.A Staff #4

Shota Aizawa:

Shota Aizawa (相あい澤ざわ消しょう太た, Aizawa Shōta?), also known as the Erasure Hero: Eraser Head (イレイザー・ヘッド, Ireizā Heddo?), is a Pro Hero and the homeroom teacher of U.A. High School's Class 1-A.

Appearance: Shota is a slender and tall, pale-skinned man with messy, shoulder-length black hair that partially hangs in front of his face and half-opened black eyes. He is usually recognized for his worn-out appearance,[5][6] often looking fatigued. His facial hair is almost always in a stubbly, unkempt state (unless he needs to look good for the press), and his eyes tired and flat unless he's in combat.

He sports a baggy black outfit that consists of a long-sleeved shirt and matching pants that tuck into his boots. He also wears a utility belt and his signature wrap scarf at all times. He hides a pair of bright yellow goggles underneath his scarf for when he needs to use them in battle.[7]

Before starting his teaching career, Shota's goggles were of a silver-like color, and he had a smaller utility belt.

Personality:

Shota is a very stern and reserved man who has lofty expectations of his students. He is primarily motivated by logic and does not believe in the necessity to maintain a clean-cut appearance or filter his words or ideas for others. He often comes off as cold, apathetic, and impatient, exerting very little energy in most situations, preferring to take naps in his sleeping bag instead.

As a teacher with notoriously high expectations, Shota is known to expel students who he feels are not suited for U.A. High. However, it's revealed that this high expulsion rate is only on paper and that he actually re-enrolls the students he expels: Shota does this so they can experience "death" once, giving them an experience that drives them to push even higher.[13] Although it is noteworthy that he has not expelled any students from Class 1-A yet, despite being well-known for doing so.[14] He can be rigid and strict when necessary and has little tolerance for disobedience. Shota is not afraid of putting his students through rigorous training and often pushes the more unpleasant parts of Heroism, so that his students can overcome their limits.

Shota has proven to be very vocal and unafraid when expressing his ideas. He has mentioned on several occasions that some of U.A.'s choices when it comes to examinations are not practical or challenging enough for real Hero hopefuls and is adamant about having certain systems used by the institution changed.[15] He also blatantly stated that he did not believe Izuku Midoriya could become a hero when they first met.[7] He is also known for lying to his students in order to manipulate them into giving their best, a technique he describes as a 'logical ruse'/'rational deception'.[16]

Aizawa's Abilities:

Overall Abilities: Shota has demonstrated incredible combat prowess and ingenuity that makes him one of the most formidable teachers and Pro Heroes at U.A. High. Shota's usual battle tactic consists of canceling an opponent's Quirk and then using his Capturing Weapon in conjunction with his high agility to easily defeat or restrain his adversaries. Even without the aid of his Quirk, Shota relies on his proficiency in hand-to-hand combat, excelling in close quarters combat. His overall abilities make him a pivotal combatant in situations that involve his opponents being solely Quirk-reliant, and with the Erasure Hero creating openings by negating their powers in the midst of battle, him and his comrades are put into advantageous positions.

Binding Cloth: Shota fights by ensnaring and/or immobilizing his opponents with his capturing weapon, and can also use it for mobility by swinging on walls and surfaces. As highly proficient he is at using this fighting style, Shota stated that it took him six years to learn and develop it from absolute scratch. This style of combat synchronizes well with his Erasure Quirk, as he can nullify the Quirks of his opponents while being able to restrain and defeat them. Immense Stamina: On multiple occasions, Shota was able to keep fighting on even after suffering significant and painful injuries. During the U.S.J. Incident, he fought off swarms of villains and still had energy to face Tomura. Even when Shota's left arm and skull were shattered by the U.S.J. Nomu, he remained conscious long enough to save Tsuyu from being killed by Tomura.

Quirk:

Erasure (抹まっ消しょう, Masshō?): Shota's Quirk gives him the ability to nullify another person's Quirk by looking at the user. The effects of this Quirk can still last even if Shota's line of vision is out of range.[23]

After sustaining grievous injuries at the U.S.J., Shota can't use his Quirk for as long and must rest longer between erasures.[19] After losing one of his eyes in the Paranormal Liberation War, he reveals that he has now almost completely lost the ability to use his Quirk,[22] though he can still make some use of Erasure using just the one eye.[24]

While powerful, this ability has many drawbacks:

Erasure deactivates if Shota blinks. His Quirk gives Shota a bad dry eye, forcing him to blink more often when he uses the power continuously.

U.A Students Class 1-A:

Izuku Midoriya (緑みどり谷や出いず久く, Midoriya Izuku?), also known as the One For All Hero: Deku (ワン・フォー・オール ヒーロー デク, Wan Fō Ōru Hīrō: Deku?)[4], is the main protagonist of the My Hero Academia manga and anime series.

Even though Izuku was born Quirkless, he manages to catch the attention of the legendary Hero All Might, due to his innate heroism and a strong sense of justice, and has since become his close pupil, as well as a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School. All Might passed on his transferable Quirk to Izuku, making him the ninth and final wielder of One For All.

Appearance: Izuku is somewhat short for his age, his round face is framed by a short mop of fluffy dark-green hair which curls up at odd angles around his head, casting noticeably dark shadows onto itself. His eyes are large and somewhat circular and his irises are the same shade of green as his hair, which at times are very watery, and are usually stretched quite wide, giving him an innocent, energized appearance. He has a set of four symmetrical freckles in diamond formations, one on each cheek. Izuku has often been described as "plain-looking" or "not standing out" by others.

Though he was initially very skinny, Izuku has gained toned muscles after his ten months of extensive training with All Might, and as the series progresses, these are shown to become more developed and defined as he gradually grows stronger.

(Most of Class 1-A calls Izuku Deku, a nickname that Bakugo gave him to make fun of him, but Ochaco made that nickname have another meaning now it seems that Izuku likes being called that)

Personality:

Izuku is a very timid, reserved, and polite boy, frequently overreacting to abnormal situations with exaggerated expressions. Due to yeаrs of being looked down on by Katsuki for lacking a Quirk, he is initially portrayed as insecure, tearful, vulnerable, and non-expressive. These traits are especially present around Katsuki, who also constantly harangued him for his aspirations to become a hero. However, after being accepted into U.A.

Izuku is a quite diligent and strong-willed student, being extremely (and sometimes scarily) enthusiastic about topics related to heroes. His dream drives him to write down notes about everything he learns about heroes' Quirks and fighting capabilities. Thanks to this practice, Izuku has developed a great analytical mind and can form complex battle plans in a few seconds, factoring in the best ways he can utilize the Quirks of allies and enemies alike for his own advantage.

Izuku externalizes his observations through endless mumbling, a habit that annoys or creeps out his peers. Izuku often writes down his observations in a variety of notebooks he titles as Hero Analysis for the Future

Izuku's Abillities:

Overall Abilities: Izuku's greatest asset prior to receiving his Quirk was his vast knowledge of fundamental hero skills and tactics. Izuku studied Pro Heroes for years and is able to apply that knowledge during crisis situations in a practical manner. His immense bravery and desire to become a hero were also important factors in giving him the mentality to protect others. Before gaining his Quirk from All Might, he took on the Sludge Villain and rescued Katsuki because of his boldness and application of heroic skills, something that deeply impressed the No. 1 Hero.

Upon training with All Might, Izuku inherited One For All from him and was granted the ability to harness a stockpile of powerful energy. He can move faster than the eye can see and take down an enormous Villain Bot in a single punch, but the physical backlash at the time prevented Izuku from being able to fight properly or compete with his peers on an even playing field, as throwing a punch or kick with anything beyond moderate force will shatter the bones in his arms and legs. Even so, he still possessed impressive physical durability, and his drive allowed him to withstand the drawbacks of One For All for the most part.

Izuku's Abillities:

Trained Muscles: Usage of One For All requires the user to have strong muscles, as One For All is a lot to handle and could cause the user's body to be blown apart if they don't possess the necessary bodily strength. Having been trained by All Might for 10 months in order to get his body physically ready to inherit One For All, Izuku gained a muscular physique that lets him perform at parameters higher than that of an average student outside U.A.'s hero course. During the Quirk Apprehension Test, he demonstrated a grip strength of 56 kilograms and the ability to run the 50-meter dash in 7.02 seconds (15.93 mph/25.64 kph). Even after these events, Deku diligently trains his muscles every day and becomes physically stronger throughout the series. He is often seen running laps and using dumbbells or grippers to train during his free time. Deku can also be observed doing the air chair exercise during the breaks between classes.

Izuku's Quirk:

One For All (ワン・フォー・オール, Wan Fō Ōru?): Transferred to him from Toshinori Yagi, Izuku's Quirk allowed him to stockpile an enormous amount of raw power, allowing him to significantly enhance all of his physical abilities to various boundless levels. This resulted in unbelievable levels of strength, speed, stamina, agility, and durability. When Izuku activated One For All, red, vein-like lines course throughout the empowered part of his body.

Currently Izuku also has variants of the Quirks of the previous One for All users. These: Gear Shift, Fa Jin, Danger Sense, Blackwhip Smoke Screen and Float

U.A students Class 1-A:

Katsuki Bakugo (爆ばく豪ごう勝かつ己き, Bakugō Katsuki?), also known as Kacchan (かっちゃん, Katchan?) by his childhood friends,[4] and his hero name Explosive Hero: Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight (爆ばく烈れつヒーロー 大だい•爆ばく•殺さっ•神しんダイナマイト, Bakuretsu Hīrō Daibakusasshin Dainamaito?),[5] was a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero. He is the deuteragonist of My Hero Academia.

Appearance: Katsuki is a young man of above-average height, with a slim, muscular build, and a fair skin tone. He has short, spiky, sandy blond hair with choppy bangs that hang over his eyebrows. His eyes are sharp and bright red in color.

During his time in Aldera Junior High School, similar to Izuku, he wore a plain black gakuran uniform with yellow buttons, accompanied by brown loafers. While at home, he wears a green jinbei over a white shirt and gray sweatpants.

(Katsuki's nickname was given by Izuku, only Izuku, Kirishima, Kaminari call him Kacchan)

At U.A., he wears the standard U.A. uniform without the customary red tie, a few buttons undone at the top of his white collared shirt, and his pants are worn loosely, sagging at his ankles, despite him wearing a belt with them. After the Paranormal Liberation War, Katsuki's school uniform is worn in a much neater fashion and includes the red tie he previously forwent.

Personality:

Katsuki is a crude, arrogant, short-tempered, and aggressive person, especially at the beginning of the series. Katsuki tends to come off as unheroic; this problematic behavior going all the way back to his early childhood days when he was known to bully a young, Quirkless, Izuku Midoriya. He showed to be extremely arrogant and condescending to those around him, often bragging of his Explosion Quirk's power, and even boasting that he would take on his entire middle school class. He showed open hostility towards Izuku, mainly because of his former Quirkless status, and would frequently put down his dream of becoming a Hero, despite lacking a Quirk, and also gave him the insulting nickname "Deku" (meaning useless and unable to achieve anything). He even threatened Izuku not to apply to U.A. High School and became angry upon both of them passing the Entrance Exam, wanting to be the only person from his middle school to make it there.

Katsuki's Abillities:

Overall Abilities: Katsuki has proven to be one of the strongest students in Class 1-A, earning third place in the Quirk Apprehension Test, while placing first in both the U.A. Entrance Exam, having the most villain points, and the U.A. Sports Festival. Katsuki's fighting style is an all-out offense, using his Quirk's propulsive abilities to close the distance between him and his opponents, followed by a bombardment of close-range attacks that often start with a powerful right hook. Katsuki is able to use his Explosion to propel himself through mid-air, blind opponents, and release long-range blasts, among other applications. Explosion is a versatile Quirk, especially for battle situations, as the recoil caused by the blasts can be exploited by Katsuki for mobility purposes.

Quirk:

Explosion (爆ばく破は, Bakuha?): Katsuki's Quirk allows him to secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat from the palms of his hands and ignite it on command, allowing him to create strong explosions.[4] The more Katsuki sweats, the stronger his explosions become.[20] If Katsuki overuses this power, his forearms will start to ache.

Katsuki has a strong grasp on the applications of his Quirk, something that was acknowledged by Best Jeanist, a top Pro Hero; not only can Katsuki use the explosions for attacking, he can also use them to propel himself and navigate through the air at high speeds, allowing him to fly at his opponents without giving them time to react,[21] as well as evade incoming attacks, even while in the air.[22][23] The shockwave from an explosion can even be used as a shield.

U.A Student Class 1-A:

Ochaco Uraraka:

Ochaco Uraraka (麗うらら日かお茶ちゃ子こ, Uraraka Ochako?), also known as the Zero Gravity Hero: Uravity (無む重じゅう力りょく ヒーロー ウラビティ, Mujūryoku Hīrō Urabiti?), is one of the main protagonists of My Hero Academia and is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Hero.

Appearance: Ochaco is a short girl with a chubby yet curvy figure, fair skin, and auburn hair with eyes that match in color. She has perpetual pink blush marks on her cheeks, and her eyes are large and round with thick upper lashes, two more extended and more prominent ones on either side and fewer but more individually pronounced lower lashes. Her hair is above shoulder-length with short bangs hanging above her eyebrows, and the style is bobbed with two long strands framing her face. She has small, thick pads on her fingertips similar to the digits of an animal's paws; she uses these when activating and deactivating her Quirk.

Personality:

Other students have described Ochaco as "the most laid-back girl" in her class, being very bubbly and was once kind of an airhead sometimes. She is often incredibly blunt without being aware of it. Similar to Izuku Midoriya, Ochaco's reactions tend to be exaggerated and humorous: she often becomes amused at certain personality traits and quirks others exhibit, bursting into laughter at times, which she tries to suppress.

Ochaco is a warm, cute, lively individual who thinks about everything positively, though she is objective enough to see flaws and virtues. She is generally empathetic and friendly to those she meets, and she will try to help or defend anyone who is kind to her or needs assistance. Ochaco is very good at reading people, understanding the reasons for Izuku and Katsuki Bakugo's rivalry, and being the first to notice when the usually collected Tsuyu Asui was upset. Her empathy and kindness are also seen in how well she gets along with her classmates. She is on good terms with everyone and is particularly close friends with several class members, including Izuku, Tenya Ida, Tsuyu, etc.

Ochaco's Abillities:

Overall Abilities: At first glance, Ochaco doesn't seem like one of the strongest combatants, but over her time at U.A. High School, she has drastically improved her combat prowess to become a more competent combatant. Her abilities earned her 3rd place in the U.A. Entrance Exam and 10th place in the Quirk Apprehension Test. Ochaco's main battle tactic consists of getting close to her opponent and using her Quirk, Zero Gravity, to directly affect them, causing her targets to continuously float up and lose their footing, drastically inhibiting their fighting capabilities. Ochaco also utilizes floating rubble as projectile attacks, or remove the weight of heavy structures, holding onto them to be used as improvised melee weapons. Ochaco can use Zero Gravity to remove her weight, increase her agility, and create decoys by making objects levitate above the ground. Ochaco's overall abilities make her one of the strongest female students in her class.

Gunhead Martial Arts (ガンヘッド マーシャル アーツ, Gan Heddo Māsharu Ātsu?): When she worked under Gunhead, Ochaco was trained in martial arts to attack at close range more effectively, benefiting her Quirk in combat. She has mastered several forms of grappling, take-downs, and throws using force, including her opponents' force against themselves. Her skill is enough to easily dispatch an opponent who surprisingly tries to stab her and incapacitate them, as shown with Thirteen and Himiko Toga, a dangerous villain. Ochaco has developed a few moves that she can use with her Quirk.

Ochaco's Quirk:

Ochaco's Quirk gives her the power to nullify the effects of gravity on solid targets (living and nonliving) by touching them with the pads on her fingertips, causing them to become weightless and float. She is able to cancel the effect of her Quirk by touching her finger pads together.

U.A Students Class 1-A:

Tsuyu Asui:

Tsuyu Asui (蛙あ吹すい梅雨つゆ, Asui Tsuyu?), also known as the Rainy Season Hero: Froppy (梅つ雨ゆ入いりヒーロー フロッピー, Tsuyuiri Hīrō Furoppī?), is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero.

Appearance: Tsuyu is a short girl of a relatively slender build and has notably large hands. Her appearance is rather frog-like; she has a wide mouth, which dips down a little in the middle just like a common frog, and oval-shaped eyes with large, black irises, their lower eyelashes visibly pronounced. Amongst her family, Tsuyu's frog-like traits are the least pronounced. She also demonstrates some frog-like mannerisms, such as hopping on all fours instead of running and holding herself in a way that is somewhat connotative of a frog.

Her hair is a dark sea-green color and is very long, reaching to her hips with the ends tied together at the bottom in a large bow of hair. She has two armpit-length clumps framing her face and shorter bangs between her eyes, some partially swept to each side.

Personality:

Tsuyu is straightforward and aloof, speaking bluntly from her mind and freely expressing what she thinks about others. Tsuyu prefers to be called "Tsu" (梅雨ちゃん, Tsuyu-chan) but only by people she views as friends.[6] She commonly refers to everyone with the honorific "-chan", save for teachers and other authority figures.

Tsuyu's parents were always busy at work, requiring her to become the caretaker of her two younger siblings at a young age. Under these circumstances, Tsuyu grew into a highly mature and responsible individual who could divide her attention between school and home duties without letting one intervene with the other. This balance also means that Tsuyu knows how to lead and look after people, keeping them safe and at ease if they don't feel so. She has strong morals, goals, and principles and is willing to oppose her friends to defend them from rash decisions.

Tsuyu's Abillities:

Overall Abilities: Tsuyu has proven herself to be a highly capable individual. Using the frog-based abilities granted by her Quirk, Tsuyu has proficiency in close and long-range combat. She employs a fighting style that involves a great amount of agility and powerful leaps to evade, surprise, and confuse her opponents, as well as using her increased leg strength to deliver powerful kicks. Tsuyu can also use her elongated tongue in a grappling or whip-like fashion to subdue her opponents.

Tsuyu's Quirk:

Frog (蛙かえる, Kaeru?): Tsuyu's Quirk gives her a frog's physiology and allows her to do anything a frog can, giving her abilities such as:

Enhanced swimming abilities. Hopping at long distances. Extending her tongue up to a maximum of 20 meters (63 feet) (which is strong enough to lift an entire person's body weight). Sticking to walls. Ejecting/washing her stomach. Camouflaging herself. Secreting mucous with different, controlled effects: Itch inducing Scent masking Paralysis

U.A Students Class 1-A

Tenya Iida:

Tenya Ida (飯いい田だ天てん哉や, Īda Ten'ya?), also known as Turbo Hero: Ingenium (ターボヒーロー・インゲニウム, Tābo Hīrō Ingeniumu?), is the class representative of Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training there to become a Hero to follow the legacy of the Ida Family.

Appearance: Tenya is a tall and muscular young man with a wide frame. He has short dark blue hair, flattened neatly down and parted on the right side of his head, a small patch completely shaved near the base of his head, and rather square eyes which match the notably pointed shape of his jaw. He usually wears a serious expression, and his eyebrows seem permanently pointed inwards, quite thin and long, the far ends sharply hooked inwards, and he wears glasses with rectangular lenses. Because of his Quirk, he possesses calves that are incredibly thick, and shaped like automobile engines, with six silver exhaust pipes protruding from each leg in columns of three. He gains new mufflers after removing the old ones from his legs, with them being longer and shaped a bit differently.

Personality:

Tenya may look severe, unfriendly, and even intimidating at first glance, but in reality, he's straightforward, earnest, intelligent, sophisticated, disciplined, and noble, although a bit clueless about personal interactions due to his elite upbringing. A testament to his generally hyperactive and intense behavior, Tenya often exhibits plenty of peculiar tics, such as moving his arms around in strange chopping patterns or sometimes twitching his body uncontrollably; yet he rarely sheds his usual strict expression.

Tenya's Abillities:

Overall Abilities: Tenya has repeatedly shown that he is a highly formidable combatant. His skills earned him fourth place in the Quirk Apprehension Test, sixth place in the U.A. Entrance Exam, having the second-highest amount of villain points, and fourth place at the U.A. Sports Festival, although he qualified for third place if he had stayed for the closing ceremony. Thanks to his Quirk, Tenya has been revered as one of the fastest students in Class 1-A, and he uses his increased speed to supplement his fighting style, which involves powerful, high-speed kicks that can even crush metal. Using his incredible speed and quick reflexes, Tenya swiftly defeated Ibara Shiozaki, one of the most formidable students in Class 1-B, and nearly defeated Shoto Todoroki, one of the strongest students in Class 1-A, but the latter blindsided Tenya by freezing his mufflers before encasing Tenya in ice. Shoto and Izuku, two of the most powerful students in their class, commented on Tenya's superior speed, even though Izuku has trained himself to keep pace with Tenya, while Shoto, on the other hand, cannot.

Tenya's Quirk:

Engine (エンジン, Enjin?): Tenya's Quirk gives him car-like engines in each of his calves, giving him incredible running speed and extreme kicking power. Tenya needs to fuel his engines by drinking orange juice.

Tenya's engines have multiple gears; it is currently unknown how many, but it has been implied that there are more than three. Much like a real engine, his Quirk requires that the exhaust pipes on the backs of his legs remain clear of obstructions to function correctly.

Tenya engaged in hardcore, long-distance running as part of his training to increase his leg strength and stamina to run faster for more extended periods. During the Quirk Apprehension Test, he ran fifty meters in 3.04 in third gear, meaning he ran at an average speed of 51.29 kilometers per hour (36.79 miles per hour), making his maximum speed exceedingly above this.

U.A Students Class 1-A

Mina Ashido:

Mina Ashido (芦あし戸ど三み奈な, Ashido Mina?), also known as the Ridley Hero: Pinky (リドリーヒーロー ピンキー, Ridorī Hīrō Pinkī?), is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero.

Appearance: Mina is a girl of medium height, possibly set a little more broadly than some of her other female classmates, with, according to her profile, "healthy thighs". Due to her Quirk, her skin is a light shade of pink, and she has somewhat square-shaped eyes with black sclerae and yellow irises and notably long eyelashes below and around the sides of her eyes. Minoru Mineta once commented that "she's got a super athletic body."

Her face is framed by short fluffy, unruly pink hair slightly darker than her skin. She also has two thin pale yellow horns protruding from her head, hooked squarely and leaning diagonally to opposite sides, which seem to be slightly flexible, able to bend a bit to each side.

Personality:

Mina is a cheerful and easygoing girl who usually displays a smile. Highly social and excitable, she loves to hang out with her friends and is shown to become very upset when denied an opportunity to be at a gathering. She possesses a strong fashion sense and likes to go shopping.

Due to her athleticism and energy, Mina enjoys and is very skilled at dancing. Her demeanor becomes more strict and perfectionist when teaching others how to dance, in direct contrast to her usual happy-go-lucky nature. She is known to use her dancing to somehow pacify even those who have bad relationships with others.

Mina's Abillities:

Overall Abilities: Despite having minimal combat abilities, Mina makes up for it with her Quirk proficiency and incredible reaction time. Her abilities allowed her to earn 9th place in the Quirk Apprehension Test. Mina has demonstrated a good handle on the applications of her Acid Quirk, using the acid she creates as cover fire for her allies and employing it in various ways. Mina can also control the levels of solubility and viscosity of her acid. She lowers solubility and ensures that her Quirk doesn't become lethal against most living beings. And by raising viscosity, Mina can generate extremely slimy acid that acts as a protective barrier by gluing it to surfaces. Mina is said to have difficulties facing human adversaries due to not fully mastering her Quirk's corrosive properties, so she's more comfortable battling inorganic foes.[6] Besides her Quirk handling, Mina reflexes surpass most of Class 1-A's students while being the best out of the female members of the said class.[1] Examples include Mina easily dodging Yuga Aoyama's laser attacks, and later on at the Provisional Hero License Exam, with precise flicks, melt several high-speed target balls launched toward her.

Quirk:

Acid (酸さん, San?): Mina's Quirk allows her to produce a corrosive liquid from her body. She can control the solubility and viscosity of this corrosive liquid. There is a limit to how long she can produce the corrosive liquid until her skin gradually loses its natural resistance to it. Overusing her Quirk or pushing it too far can also be fatal, as it dehydrates her body very fast.

Mina can use her acid offensively, but has shown utility with it as well, such as melting handholds for herself to climb with. She is also known to secrete a non-corrosive version of the acid from her feet in order to slide around.

As part of her training, Mina constantly produced acid in order to increase her skin's durability, namely towards the corrosive properties of her Quirk.

U.A Student Class 1-A:

Hitoshi Shinso:

Hitoshi Shinso (心しん操そう人ひと使し, Shinsō Hitoshi?), also known as the Hypnosis Hero: Nighthide (ヒプノシスヒーロー ナイトハイド, Hipunoshisu Hīrō Naitohaido?), is a student at U.A. High School, attending Class 1-C of the Department of General Education before being transferred into Class 1-A of the school's Hero Course.

Appearance: Hitoshi is a relatively tall young man with messy, indigo-colored hair that flares out in large tufts around his head, notably straight teeth. His eyes are purple with white pupils and are thin and somewhat triangular, pointing downward, with no visible eyelashes. They're usually half-closed, and he has dark eye bags underneath them.

Personality:

Hitoshi is a stoic and straightforward person with an innate ability to spark conversation with anyone despite holding a reserved and quiet attitude most of the time. He is shown to be rather clever, knowing just the right words to manipulate others into replying to his comments, allowing him to activate his Quirk. He does not mind doing something underhanded to claim victory in a fight.

Due to having his Brainwashing Quirk perceived as evil throughout his life, Hitoshi has been somewhat feared by those aware of his power and has been discriminated against solely because of the Quirk he was born with.

Abillities:

Overall Abilities: Initially, Hitoshi lacked direct combat abilities, choosing to rely on the power of his Quirk in battles. However, after deciding to transfer to the Hero Department of U.A. High School, he underwent training by his mentor, Eraser Head. Hitoshi displayed the results of his training when he, Class 1-A, and Class 1-B took part in the Joint Training Battle. During the two rounds of the said training in which he partook, Hitoshi also showcased excellent camaraderie, using the voice-modifying function of his Artificial Vocal Cords, as well as his Ultimate Move, Persona Chords, to confuse his opponents, blindsiding them into being left wide open to the surprise attacks of Hitoshi's teammates. Despite complaining that he couldn't use half of what he learned during his training, his aptitude is noted by those such as Denki Kaminari and Tsuyu Asui. As pointed out by Midnight, Hitoshi replayed the fight in his head, wanting to pick up on areas where he fell short or could improve upon, further demonstrating his great battle practice and determination

Hitoshi's Quirk:

Brainwashing (洗せん脳のう, Sen'nō?): Hitoshi's Quirk allows him to put someone in a state where they are forced to obey whatever he commands. He can only activate this power when his target verbally responds to something he says. Brainwashing must be intentionally activated and will not take effect if Hitoshi doesn't want it to.

Though he can have multiple people under his control at once, he can only activate his power on one person at a time. He was also initially unable to have his victims do things that require some advanced brain function, like talking or writing a name from their memory. However, to keep up with his future classmates in the hero course, Hitoshi trained hard and developed his Quirk

U.A Student Class 1-A:

Momo Yaoyorozu:

Momo Yaoyorozu (八や百お万よろず百もも, Yaoyorozu Momo?), also known as the Everything Hero: Creati (万ばん物ぶつヒーロー クリエイティ, Banbutsu Hīrō Kurieiti?), is the vice class representative of Class 1-A at U.A. High School, where she got in through official recommendations[5] training there to become a Pro Hero.

Appearance: Momo is a tall teenage girl with a mature physique. She has long black hair, generally tied into a spiky ponytail with a large strand hanging on the right side of her face. Her eyes are big yet sharp, dark in color, and paired with short eyebrows set in a determined expression.

Personality:

Momo is a very prudent, dedicated person who is a natural leader. She is levelheaded and calm in dangerous situations, but she isn't above falling into a panic. Momo is very kind, polite, and relatively reserved, yet she can be blunt with her comments about people's mistakes and miscalculations, tending to be very direct and wishing to help her peers improve enough to become great heroes, such as when she tutored her classmates at her home. Momo shows further development as a selfless hero who gets inspiration from others while also taking the role of a leader in her class, thanks to her skills and intelligence. Because of her wealthy upbringing, she has a sensible and respectful attitude toward others, often being discouraged by discourteous behavior.

Momo's Abillities:

Overall Abilities: Being a recommended student, Momo possesses good combat skills. Her abilities earned her 1st place in the Quirk Apprehension Test, an impressive feat considering that almost all of her classmates had at least one superhuman result, which was cumulative of all eight tests. Momo held her own against Fumikage Tokoyami for a short period during the U.A. Sports Festival and did the same against Itsuka in the second match of the Joint Training Battle, but lost in both instances.

Momo's Quirk:

Creation (創そう造ぞう, Sōzō?): Momo's Quirk gives her the ability to create any non-living material/object from her exposed skin by transforming the molecular structure of her fat cells. To create something, she needs to understand the molecular structure of what the material/object is made of.

The more Momo eats, the more material she has to work with, so she needs considerable food ingestion for her Quirk to be effective. However, it takes her a more extended period and more skin exposure to create large objects, to the point where she forces large objects through her costume, leaving it shredded, though she claims she can repair it.

This aspect of Momo's Quirk is likely the reason for her slim figure, as she constantly burns her fat to create objects. It is also possible that this is a significant weakness because if she generates too much without replacing her calories, she can become weak and anemic.

As part of her training, Momo consumed large amounts of food to increase her Quirk's efficacy and reduce the time needed to create objects.
