Junko Enoshima

Junko is simply described as charismatic and eager to try new things. During her early appearances, she comes across as slightly arrogant and short-tempered. In the official artbook, she is described as someone who "drips with dissatisfaction the moment she opens her mouth" and tends to get into trouble with her classmates. She is also mentioned as being overly talkative and having an overly carefree attitude. This has been shown since she didn't usually attend classes. However, Junko's true personality, revealed at the conclusion of Murderous School Life, is noticeably different: very apathetic and easily bored to an unhealthy and abnormal degree. Because of this, her behavior and mannerisms tend to be extremely erratic and unstable by their own design; maintaining one "appearance" for too long bores her, causing her to often switch between different personas. However, she is capable of maintaining a persona for long periods of time when necessary, such as when she was supervising students through Monokuma. Junko's "moods" included (but were not limited to) her Monokuma personality, sickly cuteness, severe depression, clinical sophistication, boisterous vulgarity, creepy stoicism, and haughty superiority. She switched between "moods" regularly, often mimicking the expressions of other students, which made for some very disturbing conversation with the survivors. Upon entering Hope's Peak Academy as one of the Class 78 students, she often spoke as if narrating a story, jotting down her thoughts in a notebook. Above all else, Junko is deeply obsessed with despair, and had found despair to be the most (and possibly only) enjoyable emotion for her, whether it be inflicting despair on others or despairing herself wholeheartedly.

This made her extremely dangerous, as she desired to make everyone feel absolute despair. However, this also often proved to be her greatest weakness, as she gave her opponents a "fair" chance to defeat her only to cause them even more despair if they failed, and happily welcomed her own despair if her plans failed.

Junko has a curvaceous, guitar-like figure. She has light blue eyes and long, thick, strawberry-blonde hair tied in two pigtails, though in some parts it is light blonde. She has been shown to wear a variety of hair accessories throughout the series, but her signature accessories are a pair of barrettes seemingly modeled after Monokuma; the right clip is completely white with domed eyes and a neutral expression, the bear Mukuro Ikusaba was given as a child, while the left is black with a white snout, irregular red eyes, and an evil smile, the one Junko was given as a gift. Due to her multiple personality disorder (not as pronounced as Fukawa's), Junko's appearance changes slightly with her mood. This can be as simple as a new accessory (such as the crown on her "Queen" persona's head), or a complete change in appearance (such as the simplified design of her "cute" persona).
