Petla Feet (Quetzalpetlatl)

(Sorry for the longer story, I thought I'd make it more detailed for a lesser known character)

In the golden twilight of the Spirit Realm, Quetzalpetlatl sat atop the highest stone of the Sun Pyramid, her legs stretched out, bare feet dangling over the edge, warmed by the last rays of the dying sun. The stone beneath her glowed faintly with residual divine energy—an echo of her own power.

She had just returned from a long journey across the southern skies, where she had guided the solar winds as part of her celestial duties. Her soles, though divine, showed the faintest flush of wear—a rare sign that even gods could tire. Each toe was adorned with intricate rings of turquoise and jade, symbols of the sky and water.

Lucoa, her sister, appeared behind her in a shimmer of light and warmth. “You always come here after a flight,” she said with a knowing smile, floating lazily beside her.

Quetzalpetlatl didn’t turn. “It reminds me I’m still tethered to the world, even if my head is in the clouds.”

Lucoa floated down beside her and, with a mischievous grin, tapped her sister’s ankle. “Or maybe you just like feeling the wind between your toes.”

Quetzalpetlatl chuckled softly. “Perhaps.”

Lucoa glanced at her sister’s feet, symbols of her endless travels, the soles that touched the heavens and the earth. “Do they hurt?” she asked, a rare trace of concern threading her voice.

“A little,” Quetzalpetlatl admitted. “But it’s a good pain. It reminds me of all I’ve done.”

Lucoa, ever affectionate, summoned a breeze to wash over her sister’s feet—cool, scented with jasmine. “Let the wind honor them, then.”

Quetzalpetlatl leaned back, closing her eyes, feeling the divine wind encircle her ankles and heels. In that quiet moment, even a goddess could feel human—if only through her feet, tired and bare against the sacred stone.
