Rick's Ship
Rick Sanchez's Spaceship (officially the Flying Saucer or Space Cruiser) is a high-tech spacecraft handcrafted by Rick in his garage from junk, scrap metal, and old parts. Despite its plain and battered appearance, the ship possesses destructive power and is more advanced than most civilizations in the universe. [1]
Appearance and design
Shape: Classic UFO flying saucer, gray-green color. Materials: The body is made from trash, rusty sheets of metal and parts of old cars. Cockpit: Two-seater transparent dome made of heavy-duty glass. Headlights: The front lights are made from ordinary plastic bottles. Panel: The interior dashboard is assembled from old toggle switches and duct tape. Seats: Equipped with simple seats (sometimes children's) and regular seat belts. []
Engine and power source
Microverse: The main battery contains an entire global ecosystem created by Rick. Inhabitants: An intelligent race inside the battery generates kinetic energy, thinking that this is their way of life. Infinity: Thanks to this technology, the ship has a virtually infinite supply of energy. Warp speed: Equipped with an engine that allows instantaneous travel between star systems. [, 2]
Artificial Intelligence and Security
AI Personality: The onboard computer possesses an advanced, cynical, and extremely pragmatic intelligence. Priority: The AI unquestioningly carries out Rick's basic command, "Protect Summer." Psychology: To protect passengers, the AI uses not only lasers, but also psychological manipulation. Arsenal: The ship is equipped with mechanical tentacles, hidden machine guns, and laser turrets. Defense: Can create impenetrable force fields, melt people, and clone the deceased children of enemies to exert psychological pressure on them. []
Rick's ship is a perfect reflection of its creator: dirty on the outside, but brilliant and deadly on the inside.
Designed for long expeditions to other planets, etc.
Rick Prime
It's unknown what Prime did after killing Daen. Prime is likely the smartest Rick of all Ricks, which explains why he's outside the CCC. Prime is also so brilliant that he created a weapon so advanced it doesn't even need a name, but the "loser" Ricks call it the "Omega Device." The Omega Device is a huge energy ball. If a living being is dropped into it, they instantly vanish from all realities. Prime did this to Daen during the final battle with Slowmobius.
Prime killed not only our Rick, but all the other Dayens. He later created a special trap for Ricks who got too close to Prime. No one ever escaped this trap except Rick C-137, Morty, and Evil Morty.
During the final battle, Prime summons three robots similar to Daen, likely still grieving. This battle also reveals Prime's combat potential. He can stop bullets, transform parts of his body into weapons, and has his own Kuato-Rika, which he uses when Prime's brain is being scanned to determine his next move. And of course, his regeneration is essential. During the battle between Prime and C-137, their mechanical parts lock and begin to fight with everything they have. One of Daen's robots strikes Prime directly, but C-137 knocks it back. After Evil Morty destroys all the robots, Prime recovers. However, due to his god syndrome, before killing Morty, he decides to gloat about what ZM is doing by shooting him with a device from his finger, thereby knocking out Prime and all his upgrades. Later, ZM downloads the weapon blueprints and allows C-137 to kill Prime. Prime's further fate is unknown, perhaps he survived, although ZM killed all his clones.
Rick Prime
Rick Prime is Rick Sanchez from the Prime Dimension and is one of the two main antagonists (along with Evil Morty) of the animated television series Rick and Morty.
This is the Rick responsible for the deaths of Diane across all infinite realities and Beth from C-137's home dimension. Rick C-137 actively attempted to find and kill Rick Prime for approximately fifty years prior to the series' start and later in season six. Rick Prime's actions became the catalyst for Rick C-137's rise to power as the "Rickiest Rick."
In Season 6, Episode 1, we learn that Prime is none other than Morty Smith's grandfather. And at the end of Season 6, Episode 10, we learn that he's supposedly from Prime's universe.
At the end of season 6, episode 10, we are shown that Rick has returned to searching for Prime, and not wanting to involve Morty in this matter, he has replaced himself with a robot double.
In Season 7, Episode 5, Rick C-137 (with some help from Evil Morty) manages to find Prime Rick. After a long and epic battle, Prime finds himself confined to a chair, unable to be reborn as a clone. Intoxicated by the prospect, Rick C-137 beats Prime to death...

Evil Morty
Evil Morty rises to power through the democratic election of the Citadel President. After his debate speech about the equality of all Ricks, the injustice meted out to Mortys within the Citadel, and the discrediting of those who disbelieve in the Citadel's values, he sends the crowd into a state of righteous ecstasy. After winning the election and becoming "President," he quickly eliminates the undesirable Ricks from the Shadow Council with the help of the Citadel guards (aka Ricks and Mortys), closes the Morty School where Ricks' assistants were trained, and elevates the overall moral and social status of all Mortys in the Citadel.
The episode ends with the remnants of the shadowy Rick Council cowed, Morty's former secretary fired for distrust, and the Ricks and Mortys of the Citadel security force calmly carrying out his orders. CN news anchor Rick-D716 is ejected into space for mockery, along with his election opponents and anyone else who posed a real threat within the Citadel walls.
After Morty escapes from captivity and frees Rick, Evil Morty hides among the crowd of Mortys evacuating to the Citadel.
Evil Morty
Evil Morty is one of the two main antagonists of the series, along with Rick Prime, aka the President of the Citadel.
Evil Morty is visually identical to Morty Smith, but unlike the perpetually confused, nervous, and easily panicked Morty, he is calm, secretive, and calculating. His behavior during the first encounter suggests he is intelligent enough to create the dome, create the cyborg Rick, and cunning enough to lure Rick C-137 to him. His behavior in the Citadel brings a new wave of horror, his powers of oratory and social mimicry revealed in all their glory, raising concerns about the future.
Evil Morty's first appearance in "Close Rick-Encounters of the Rick Kind" was a real surprise. It turns out that not all Mortys are crybabies. He and Rick, who is later revealed to be nothing more than a cyborg puppet, jump dimensions, kill Ricks, and kidnap their Mortys, subsequently trapping them in a hidden dome, using them as human shields. It turns out that Mortys are the perfect camouflage for Rick's genius waves. Morty exploits this ability quite barbarically and cruelly, hanging many kidnapped Mortys from the walls of the dome and inflicting pain on them, although Rick C-137 claims that the dome's camouflage effect can be achieved with just five Mortys. In a dialogue between Rick and Cyber Rick, who was controlled by Evil Morty, he says that in his opinion, all Ricks don't care about Mortys.
Due to Evil Morty's Rickwidth, many Mortys in the Citadel live in poverty; most are homeless, and some attend a school run by Rick-assistants. Dialogue makes it clear that the Rick-less Mortys have lost respect for Ricks, and the Rick-assistant Mortys are derided as secondary characters who carry out Rick's orders. This situation provides ample ground for Evil Morty's election campaign and further manipulation of the Rick-less Mortys.

Rick Sanchez
Richard "Rick" Sanchez of Dimension C-137, commonly referred to as Rick C-137, is the titular main protagonist of Rick and Morty.
He is a megagenius[16] scientist whose alcoholism and reckless, nihilistic behavior are sources of concern for "his daughter's" family, as well as the safety of her son, Morty. Upon the series' inception, Rick's mysterious origins and mental health were large sources of speculation.
It has since been revealed that in Dimension C-137, Rick was a humble scientist who was approached by Rick Prime with the offer of interdimensional travel. When Rick turned down his offer, Rick Prime murdered Diane and Beth Sanchez, prompting Rick to invent portal technology and go on a lifetime hunt for revenge. This made Rick the only version of himself to actually invent interdimensional travel aside from Rick Prime.
Around the same time period, Rick joined the Rebellion alongside Birdperson and Squanchy and fought against the Galactic Federation. Afterwards, for several decades, Rick killed countless amounts of his alternate selves in his ongoing hunt for Rick Prime, before they surrendered and founded the Citadel of Ricks, with Rick overseeing its construction. He ultimately left the Citadel and landed in Rick Prime's original dimension, taking his place as the father of that dimension's Beth Smith and going on adventures with his new grandson, Morty.
As the series has progressed, Rick relocated yet again to another dimension, and has continuously committed more heinous acts[17][18] that often leave many individuals dead and cause conflict with the Smith family. These include genocide, torture, and rape (see Criminal Record). Rick's morality has frequently come into question and many of the episodes shift Rick into a more antagonistic role.
Throughout his numerous adventures with Morty, Rick has been shown to be ready and willing to disregard rules, laws and social norms if it is necessary to complete a task or escape a dangerous situation.

Jessica (Parmesan Dimension) (current crush; possible love interest) Morty is Rick Sanchez's grandson and is often forced to tag along on his various misadventures as a sidekick while attending Harry Herpson High School along with his sister, Summer.[9] At the beginning of the series, Morty was shown to be an incredibly anxious and submissive teenage boy. He had little say in the adventures he went on with Rick and was often verbally abused and manipulated by him. However, Morty eventually gained more confidence as time went on and is now more capable and independent rather than a mere sidekick. This newfound confidence also allowed Morty to distance himself from Rick more often due to his despicable tendencies, although Morty still stays by his side when necessary.Beth accidentally admitted that when Morty was a baby, Jerry filled Morty with his own insecurities, making him the anxious teenager we see in the series. In the pilot episode, Morty's parents insist that he has some sort of learning disability. Rick later states Morty's low intelligence masks Rick's high intelligence, acting as a camouflage that prevents Rick's incredible intelligence from being tracked.
Morty Smith
Morty, despite being fourteen, has a mental age of several lifetimes. This is due to living in a time freeze for six months along with Rick and Summer[11][12], playing fifty-five years inside of the arcade game Roy: A Life Well Lived[13] (the game is designed to cause memory blur after a play session, meaning Morty only has a vague recollection of this life), living for several more months inside of the Teenyverse[14], an especially long video-game like reality save[15], and growing up for several decades as part of a manifestation inside of the Fear Hole[16] (the Fear Hole as an entity is also designed to cause memory blur related to an individual's experiences within it).Currently, Morty is years old, being born on February 6th 1999. He first met his grandfather, Rick Sanchez, when the latter moved into his home after supposedly being absent for 20 years. Unbeknownst to all at the time, the Rick who returned was not Morty's actual grandfather, but the Rick from Dimension C-137 and, after decades of seeking revenge for the loss of his wife and daughter while exploring the multiverse, he eventually moved into Morty's dimension, hoping that one day, Rick Prime would return to his universe so C-137 could take his revenge.[17] Rick appeared to arrive sometime around Morty's thirteenth birthday, as Rick was present for the party. Rick eventually began wiping Morty's memories of some of their adventures, partly to keep Morty from going insane.Morty is Rick Sanchez's grandson and is often forced to tag along on his various misadventures as a sidekick while attending Harry Herpson High School along with his sister, Summer.[9] At the beginning of the series, Morty was shown to be an incredibly anxious and submissive teenage boy. He had little say in the adventures he went on with Rick and was often verbally abused and manipulated by him. However, Morty eventually gained more confidence as time went on and is now more capable and independent rather than a mere sidekick.
Morty Smith
Roughly a year after Rick had first met Morty, an insecure Morty asked Rick to create some kind of love potion so Jessica would fall in love with him, an annoyed Rick doing just that. As Jessica had the flu though, this created a contagion where everyone, save those genetically related to Morty, was in love with Morty. Rick attempted to cure this serum through a combination of various animal DNAs only to wind up mutating the planet into Cronenbergs. Unwilling to fix the problem, Rick decided that they should simply leave, abandoning Morty's universe for a new one.[19] Traumatized by the affair, Morty initially kept this fact a secret only to let Summer C-131 in on it when she was suffering from an emotional crisis.[20]
After being ambushed by the Galactic Federation at Birdperson and Tammy Guterman's wedding, the family hid on Dwarf Terrace-9, Rick leaving to "get ice cream". Understanding that Rick was sacrificing his freedom for the family's safety,[21] Morty tried to make the best of the Federation's rule of Earth, hoping his family could have a normal life. When Summer grew desperate to save Rick, she dug Rick C-131's Portal Gun out from the backyard. To prove his point, Morty opened a portal back to the Prime Dimension, showing how Rick had callously abandoned Morty's original family. When said original family destroyed C-131's Portal Gun, guards from the Citadel responded, freezing the Prime family and taking Morty and Summer prisoner. When tried by the Council of Ricks, Morty denied renouncing Rick, warning the Council that he would come for them, a fact proven true seconds later when Rick C-137 teleported the Citadel into the Federation Prison's. After rescuing Morty and Summer, Rick brought down the Federation. Upon returning to Earth, Rick triumphantly revealed to Morty that he'd manipulated everything to have Beth divorce Jerry and make himself the dominant figure in the family and Morty's life.Morty is a young, good-natured, and impressionable boy.

Beth Sanchez
The details of Beth's history are relatively unknown; she was born from Rick Sanchez and Diane Sanchez, and she has recounted herself as a "bright-eyed" woman from Muskegon, Michigan in "Meeseeks and Destroy." At some point during her childhood, her parents' marriage deteriorated amid unknown circumstances, and her father left her mother. Beth blamed herself for her parents falling out, and seeing her father as an intelligent scientist compared to her mother, Beth came to idolize Rick and blamed Diane for "chasing off the dad with the guts to leave."
It is revealed in "The ABC's of Beth" that, at some point in her childhood, Beth became an insane and psychotic little girl. She began asking her father, Rick, to create toy-like weapons for her so she can harm other children. As an adult, Beth reasoned that she did that to "spend time with her father." Rick, aware of the increasing danger that would represent his daughter, created a dream world, Froopyland, for her in order to keep the other children of the neighborhood safe. Beth managed to take one of her friends, Tommy, to Froopyland, where, according to Tommy himself, she pushed him into a honey swamp as she was envious of the good relationship he has with his father. Then, she convinced herself that Tommy only got lost in Froopyland and therefore went missing.
Beth aspired to become a heart surgeon as an adult. However, this remained an aspiration as, during high school, when she was only 17 years old, she went to prom dance with her classmate, Jerry Smith (possibly, either out of pity, or out of manipulation of Ricks hoping to prompt the later conception of Mortys). Beth and Jerry had sex on prom night, and she became impregnated with her first child and only daughter, Summer. She contemplated aborting the fetus, later justifying that "everybody thinks about it," but managed to get into college and become a veterinary surgeon, specializing in horses. Eventually, she found work at St. Equis Hospital.
Beth Sanchez
Beth is a slender woman with a pale complexion, an oval-shaped face and shoulder-length blonde hair. She has prominent dull magenta lips, a pointed nose, and long eyelashes. She wears a red collar shirt, blue pants and white shoes. Beth admits that, since her unwanted pregnancy, her waistline has widened.
As a little girl, Beth wore overalls with a red shirt, long white socks, and black Mary Janes, as well as a green hair clip and two different-colored wristbands.
Beth is an intelligent, ambitious, and independent woman who suffers from a variety of deep-seated insecurities. A dedicated veterinary horse surgeon, she is the family's main breadwinner and often tries to do the best for her family based on this sense of responsibility. She is highly insecure about her profession as a horse surgeon, and is quick to snap at the implication she is not a 'real' surgeon or a 'real' veterinarian. She may share this belief, wishing she had been able to continue her medical education to become a 'real' doctor in Rixty Minutes. Nevertheless, she is very dedicated to her job, even beyond as a source of income, and was willing to give up her own pride to help successfully save a deer's life in A Rickle in Time.

Bethany "Beth" Smith (née Sanchez) of Dimension C-131, commonly dubbed "Space Beth" by Rick Sanchez to distinguish her from other incarnations, is a major character in Rick and Morty. She is either the original Beth Smith from Dimension C-131, or a clone of her.
Space Beth
At the end of "The ABC's of Beth", Rick made a clone of Beth labeled "Clone Beth" with all her memories and, unable to decide whether or not he wanted his daughter in his life as Beth had asked him to decide, purposefully had their positions shuffled so that he himself would not know which Beth was the clone, before sending one to space and keeping the other at home, and wiping his own memory of the incident (later, this leads him to finally admit to himself that he is a terrible father).
By the time of "Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri", Space Beth has gone on several space adventures to reach the most wanted status. She also discovers a chip implanted in her neck that will kill her should she return to Earth and get in proximity of the other Beth. She returns to Earth to murder Rick for lying to her, as well as the other Beth, but Rick makes her see the other Beth has a chip too. She relents and Rick invites her to lunch after they are shown equal in gadgets. She talks with him, surprised the other Beth is still with Jerry before they come under attack, during which, Rick inadvertently implies Space Beth may be the actual clone. Space Beth tracks down her father and counterpart who wanted to talk with her, causing a crash. Space Beth catches up and nearly succeeds in killing her before they are kidnapped by Tammy. While incarcerated, they talk about their contrasting lives and they reach common ground. Working together, the two versions of Beth defeat the aliens and both come to help Rick with Phoenixperson, and they both are impressed with Jerry coming in handy. Space Beth also meets Summer and Morty who are amazed to have two versions of their mother. At the end, it is revealed Rick doesn't know which Beth is which, as he erased his own memory. However, the two versions of Beth and wider Smith family are content with the mystery, as they now respect one another and are unwilling to give Rick any sense of satisfaction.
Space Beth
Space Beth has a scar over her right eye and a piercing in her right eyebrow. Half her head is shaved, with a blue streak in the hair on the unshaven half. Her outfit is comprised of black boots, skin-tight clothing, mismatched bits of cybernetic, enhanced armor (such as a gray breastplate and bronze-colored wrist gauntlet), fingerless gloves, and a waistcoat with a stylized black horse head emblem on its back. Additionally, she wears a gray, gauntlet-like device on her right forearm that appears to have several functions. When wounded, one may see that her body (at least the shoulder part) has a significant number of mechanical components. She also appears to have several implanted devices (including voice modulator), the most prominent of which is her phase shift field, activated by applying pressure to her forehead. Complete with all of Beth's memories, this Beth is similar to her counterpart.
Space Beth seems to be ambitious, as she goes on adventures in outer space, much like Rick himself. She appears to have had good intentions and chose to be a hero, fighting off the tyrannical Galactic Federation, but at the cost of becoming a wanted outlaw - a criminal in the eyes of the law. She despises how - despite being infamous her name - "Beth Smith" is seen as an incredibly forgettable name.
Space Beth appears to be vengeful of her father. Although she holds immense resentment to both Rick and the other Beth, her hatred seems to have toned down by the end of "Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri", as she has returned to live with her earthly counterpart and her family, including Jerry who remarried the other Beth. Neither Beth knows or cares which of them is the clone or original, as they respect the other for being who they are and because of the mutual resentment of Rick. Another thing to note is that she still acknowledges Rick as her father, and didn't try to kill him upon returning to the family - and instead teases him, throwing punches and using blank threats.

Jerry Smith
Gerald "Jerry" Smith of Dimension 5126 is one of the five main characters in Rick and Morty. Jerry is the husband of Beth Smith, the father of Summer Smith and Morty Smith, and the son-in-law of Rick Sanchez. The first six episodes of Season 1 featured Jerry Smith Prime, while subsequent episodes featured a Jerry who was born in and inhabited Dimension C-131 up until episode 2 of season 2 where he switched places with this Jerry at the Jerryboree. Jerry is the husband of Beth Smith, the father of Summer Smith and Morty Smith, and the son-in-law of Rick Sanchez and Diane Sanchez. He is also the son of Leonard Smith and Joyce Smith, the nephew of an unnamed man, and the grandson of Nana and Pop-Pop. He currently acts as the father and the son-in-law of Morty Smith Prime and Rick Sanchez from Dimension C-137, respectively. It is assumed that he shares the same history as Jerry Prime until the Cronenberg disaster, where it was averted in his dimension.
Jerry Smith
Jerry always tries to think of the best interest of the family, but his attempt to be the patriarch of the family can often be misguided by his self-centered nature. This causes him a great deal of conflict with Rick, as his father-in-law clearly has no respect for him whatsoever. Jerry has a medium complexion and has scruffy, dirty brown hair, with slight curls. He has dimples and wears a dark green shirt, with a brown and beige stripe in the middle. He also wears light blue long pants and black shoes. Notably, he shares the exact same face with his daughter, Summer. At 5'10" (1.78 m), he is the second tallest member of the Smith-Sanchez family, behind Rick. Jerry is a loving husband & father, and one of the only empathic and sensible human characters in the show. He represents us, the very human viewers. Though because of those around him, and by comparison to others, less than ordinary characters, is commonly relegated to less than a punchline, being often viewed by other characters as an obnoxious loser, a pathetic father, and a pitiful husband. He is cinematically directed in a way that makes us, by comparison to other characters, believe he is after his own interests and other people's acceptance, which comically leads him to make mistakes that put him in danger. Even though his relationship with his wife - Beth is strained, he still loves her no matter what, and doesn't abandon her, is also why Beth always choose Jerry in the end, despite the fact that they are polar opposites. (on paper), however, it also provides him with a far more happy life than the all-knowing Rick. Jerry puts great value in things that Rick topically sees as inferior, such as love, relationships, and attachments to the physical world.

Summer Smith
Summer Smith of Dimension C-131 is the tritagonist of Rick and Morty. She is a member of the Smith Family and the daughter of Jerry Smith and Beth Smith/Space Beth, the older sister of Morty Smith, and the mother of Naruto Smith.
She currently acts as the older sister and the granddaughter of Morty and Rick, respectively, from the Prime Dimension and Dimension C-137. For a time, she was the only other known member of the Smith Family to be aware of that fact.[1] Although it is in "Solaricks" that the whole family finds out that the Rick and Morty (and even Jerry) they're with are from different universes.
Summer is a female teenager of average height, thin build, and wide hips. She has a fair complexion, shoulder-length ginger hair, an oblong-shaped face, and a pointed nose. Her most common outfit has been a bright pink tank-top, white capri-pants, and black slip-on shoes. She usually has her hair pulled back in a ponytail. Notably, she shares the exact same face as her father, Jerry.
Her pajamas consist of a white under and pink shorts more often than a pink tank top with red and white striped sweatpants.
Summer has some personality traits of a typical American teenager, as she wishes to be popular among her peers, and finds the antics of her family to be dysfunctional, though she still cares for them. She's very attached to her phone and social media, taking videos of her dog Snuffles when he became super-smart, and shuddering at the thought of her father Jerry joining Facebook.
It is revealed that Summer can be jealous of the close relationship about her grandfather Rick and her brother Morty, and she can sometimes feel ignored by her grandfather. While Rick tries to keep her at a distance, the two of them have gone on their own adventures, including on the planet Gazorpazorp. Her complex of being ignored by Rick exhibits into a connection with the Devil in "Something Ricked This Way Comes"
Smith Family
The current Smith Family is the main family of the series. The five main family members are Summer, Jerry, Beth, Morty and Rick. Jerry Smith (the patriarch) is married to Beth Sanchez (the matriarch), which, after the wedding, took her husband's last name. The couple had two children named Summer and Morty.
Rick Sanchez—Beth's father, Jerry's father-in-law, and Summer and Morty's maternal grandfather—currently lives with his daughter's family in the Smith Residence.
History
It all starts when Rick Prime visited Dimension C-137 and offered Rick (C-137). give up his family in exchange for dimensional travel technology. Rick (C-137) refused Rick Prime's offer, after which he was offended and after a while killed Diane C-137 and Beth (C-137). Rick (C-137) decided to take revenge on Rick Prime and after some time decided to settle in Prime Dimension to Rick Prime's family. Rick (C-137) adopts Morty Prime.
In the episode "Rick Potion No. 9", Morty Prime asks Rick (C-137) for a love potion so that Jessica Prime will love him. After a while it gets out of control and everyone wants Morty Prime. Rick C-137 first turns everyone into mantises, then turns everyone into Cronenbergs. Rick (C-137) decides to leave the Prime Dimension with Morty Prime, leaving his original family to survive. In Dimension C-131, Rick (C-131) and Morty (C-131) were able to solve the problem with the Cronenbergs, but due to Rick (C-131)'s mistake, they both inadvertently died. Rick (C-137) and Morty Prime replaced them. From this point on, the current main Smith Family is formed. At that time, its members were: Rick (C-137), Morty Prime, Beth (C-131), Summer (C-131) and Jerry (C-131) (Temporarily).
In the episode "Mortynight Run", Rick (C-137) and Morty Prime decide to leave Jerry (C-131) in Jerryboree. After this they confuse Jerry (C-131) with Jerry (5126). Rick (5126) and Rick (C-137) switch as both Jerrys. From this point on, Jerry (5126) becomes a member of the current main Smith Family

Ricks across the universes
A mega-genius scientist whose alcoholism and reckless, nihilistic behavior are sources of concern for his daughter's family, as well as the safety of their son, Morty. A genius scientist, capable of creating complex scientific inventions, including brain-enhancing helmets, dream-invading devices, portals to several different dimensions, cloning technology, cybernetic implants, various energy weapons and force fields, and the world's first amusement park inside the body of a living human. His brilliance can be clouded by his jaded personal views and his alcoholic tendencies. Rick tends to be possessive and domineering of Morty, believing the boy to be his own personal helper. Rick is a lanky, old man. He has long limbs and is very skinny. He has spiky grey-blue hair with a bald spot on the back of his oblong-shaped head, as well as a prominent unibrow of the same color. He has a droopy nose. His tanned grey skin is wrinkled, with bags under his eyes and a pressure fold above his unibrow that follows its position.
Mortys across the universes
Morty is Rick Sanchez's grandson and is often forced to tag along on his various misadventures as a sidekick while attending Harry Herpson High School along with his sister, Summer. Morty is a young, good-natured, and impressionable boy who can be somewhat easily manipulated. He has been described as 'challenged' and has difficulty in school. He also has a pronounced stutter. Despite his apparent lack of intellect, Morty has shown to be a good listener and follows directions well. Morty is a young teenage boy. He has a medium complexion, short brown hair, and a small, droopy nose; he wears a yellow shirt, blue pants, and white shoes.
Summers across the universes.
She currently acts as the older sister and the granddaughter of Morty and Rick, respectively. Summer is a female teenager of average height, thin build, and wide hips. She has a fair complexion, shoulder-length ginger hair. Her most common outfit has been a bright pink tank-top, white capri-pants, and black slip-on shoes. She usually has her hair pulled back in a ponytail. Summer has some personality traits of a typical American teenager, as she wishes to be popular among her peers, and finds the antics of her family to be dysfunctional, though she still cares for them. Summer can be jealous of the close relationship between her grandfather Rick and her brother Morty, and she can sometimes feel ignored by her grandfather.
Jerrys across the universes
Jerry is often noted as somewhat of a loser. He constantly attempts to find a career to no avail, leaving his wife Beth to be the breadwinner of the family. Jerry also has an adversarial relationship with his father-in-law, Rick, and he often competes with the latter for the admiration of his family; his father-in-law clearly has no respect for him whatsoever. Jerry has a medium complexion and scruffy, dirty brown hair with slight curls. He has dimples and wears a dark green shirt with a brown and beige stripe in the middle. He also wears light blue long pants and black shoes. Jerry can be described as an obnoxious loser, a pathetic father, and a pitiful husband. He is always after his own interests and other people's acceptance, which leads him to make stupid mistakes that put him and his entire family in danger. Even though his relationship with his wife, Beth, is strained, he still loves her no matter what and doesn't abandon her. Jerry tends to be meek, misguided, and sometimes cowardly in the face of most situations. He also has a habit of quitting when things get too difficult.
Beths across the universes.
Characterized by a superiority complex and abandonment issues, Beth gradually came to struggle with her husband over his contributions to their marriage, partly due to his lower-level position and subsequent employment, further fueled by her father influencing her feelings of superiority. Beth grappled with the decision to leave her family to find herself or stay on Earth and accept things as they are. She ended up leaving the decision to Rick, who created a clone of Beth and mixed them up so that even he wouldn't know which one was the original Beth. One of the Beths flew into space, while the other remained on Earth with her family. She wears a red collared shirt, blue pants, and white shoes. Beth is an intelligent, ambitious, and independent woman who suffers from a variety of deep-seated insecurities. A dedicated equine veterinary surgeon, she is the family's main breadwinner and often tries to do the best for her family based on this sense of responsibility. She is highly insecure about her profession as an equine surgeon and is quick to snap at the implication that she is not a 'real' surgeon or a 'real' veterinarian.
Space Beths across the universes
Rick made a clone of Beth labeled "Clone Beth" with all her memories and, unable to decide whether or not he wanted his daughter in his life as Beth had asked him to decide, purposefully had their positions shuffled so that he himself would not know which Beth was the clone, before sending one to space and keeping the other at home, and wiping his own memory of the incident. Space Beth has gone on several space adventures to reach the most wanted status. Space Beth has a scar over her right eye and a piercing in her right eyebrow. Half her head is shaved, with a blue streak in the hair on the unshaven half. Her outfit is comprised of black boots, skin-tight clothing, mismatched bits of cybernetic, enhanced armor. Complete with all of Beth's memories, this Beth is similar to her counterpart.
Space Beth seems to be ambitious, as she goes on adventures in outer space, much like Rick himself. She appears to have had good intentions and chose to be a hero, fighting off the tyrannical Galactic Federation, but at the cost of becoming a wanted outlaw – a criminal in the eyes of the law. She despises how – despite being infamous – her name, "Beth Smith," is seen as incredibly forgettable.
Jessica
classmate Morty, Jessica is the love interest in Morty Smith in Rick and Morty. Due to her limited appearances, she's given little characterization outside of being a stereotypical high-school crush that Morty can't hope to impress.Due to the series taking place over several alternate realities, there are at least two incarnations of Jessica that have been seen.
The Jessica that first appears was eventually subjected to an experimental drug that Rick concocted to make her fall in love with Morty. The drug turned her into a Morty-obsessed nymphomaniac and it spread to everyone within range. Rick tried to fix this with an antidote that not only didn't work, but caused her and the entire town to mutate into abominations. Rick and Morty then left that reality to occupy a similar one that conveniently lost its Rick and Morty, with Jessica being abandoned forever.
The Jessica seen in the next reality is shown to be less aloof, as she interacts with Morty a couple of times and even invites him to go skinny-dipping at one point. Jessica also wants to be a hospice worker so she can comfort dying people.
After being imprisoned and held in suspended animation for centuries, Jessica's mind cracks and reconstructs itself. By the time Morty rescues her, she's become aware that she's little more than a love interest in someone else's story and decides to defy her role.
Romances
Morty Smith
Morty fantasies about Jessica to the detriment of his schoolwork. He's had to rely on Rick's help to get her attention, which led to an apocalypse that not even Rick could undo. Jessica seems to like Morty, though most likely as just a friend.
When Morty gets his personality detoxed, he finally develops the confidence to as Jessica out, but his new personality turns out to be too much for Jessica and she ends the date early, so Morty moves onto the next girl he sees. Rick convinces Jessica to help him restore Morty back to his dorky self, which Morty mistakenly.
.
Rick and Morty revolves around the adventures of the members of the Smith household, which consists of parents Jerry and Beth, their children Summer and Morty, and Beth's father, Rick Sanchez, who lives with them as a guest. The adventures of Rick and Morty, however, take place across an infinite number of realities, with the characters traveling to other planets and dimensions through portals and Rick's flying car.Rick and Morty has received near-universal critical acclaim, holding an approval rating of 94% on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes for the entire series. David Weigand of the San Francisco Chronicle described it as "offbeat and occasionally coarse... the take-away here is that it works." He praised the animation direction by James McDermott for being "fresh, colorful and as wacky as the script", and states that the series possesses "shades of Futurama, South Park and even Beetlejuice", ultimately opining that its humor felt "entirely original". Neil Genzlinger of The New York Times praised the series and stated that it was "Grandparenting at its unhinged finest." In a review shortly after the second-season premiere, Sean Sebastian of Junkee said that although the crude animation and over-the-top voice acting might have discouraged some viewers to continue watching, Rick and Morty is "exceptionally well-made" and that "the more you dissect it, the more you find it has to say."
