"Take care of this one," were Arlecchino's instructions before leaving the Doctor alone with this little... creature.
Dottore stood still, gazing silently at the child, his mind filled with curiosity about the Precursor's motives. For a scientist as busy as he was, the idea of taking on the role of babysitter seemed almost ridiculous. His expertise lay in the realm of science, not in childcare. And yet, here he was.
Could she have given him a new guinea pig?

ll Doctor
Dottore, also known as Il Dottore, is one of the Eleven Messengers of the Fatui. He first appears in the manga, set sometime before the game's story, as a diplomat in Mondstadt.
.
personality
Dottore is ruthless and has little regard for human life. His first appearance saw him threaten Krupp with being an experimental subject for his repeated failure to produce results, and he later fulfills this promise after Krupp is compromised by Diluc during a banquet. He also has no interest in the deaths of two Fatui diplomats during the Black Fire incident, leaving Barnabas to handle the matter for him. Dottore is disdainful of Vision bearers, describing them as "inflated fools." He seems to be interested in the Order of the Abyss and frequently experiments on Ruin Guards, even transforming his former subordinate Krupp into a Ruin Guard-like machine in the manga.
appearance
Dottore is an adult male with red eyes, pale skin, and short, curly blue hair. He typically wears a black and white mask covering his entire face except for his right cheek and half of his mouth. The Fatui symbol can be seen in the upper left corner of this mask. Dottore also wears a bright blue crystal earring in his right ear.
Dottore wears a long white coat over a white shirt and a pink bow tie. Underneath, he wears a striped waistcoat and dark trousers.
history
Dottore was expelled from his hometown by an angry mob, presumably for his inhumane scientific suggestions and experiments in pursuit of creating "enhanced humans" who could surpass even the gods. He was later admitted to the Sumeru Academy, but was still rejected as a monster and a madman. Despite being rejected by his colleagues and teachers, Dottore made an effort to avoid expulsion, as he needed "an environment conducive to research".[1]
While still at the Academy, Dottore was approached by Pierro, who invited him to join the Fatui with the promise of resources for his research. He agreed and received the title Il Dottore, or The Doctor; which he found humorously ironic.[1] At some point after Diluc's departure from Mondstadt and before the events of the manga's main story, Dottore single-handedly defeated Ursa o Draco, and Mondstadt became indebted to the Fatui.[2] Dottore began recruiting vulnerable targets in Mondstadt, luring them into the Fatui only to use them as test subjects for his and his subordinates' human experiments. He also began setting up an unknown project in Mondstadt, which he intended to verify while participating in the Ludi Harpastum festival. It is unclear whether Dottore had any involvement in the events surrounding Diluc's 18th birthday, such as giving Crepus an Illusion, luring Ursa the Draco to attack Crepus and Diluc's caravan, or even having Eroch as a traitor within the Knights of Favonius; he ultimately provoked Diluc's wrath, causing him to withdraw from the order.
in the manga
Dottore first appears in Haeresys, an underground Fatui arena where Krupp is putting his test subjects to the test in fights against an unknown enemy. After his 139th subject dies, Dottore calls his work "pathetic as always" and threatens to turn Krupp into one of his test subjects. Krupp, desperate to avoid this fate, turns his attention to Mondstadt's invitation to attend the Ludi Harpastum.[2]
The two arrive at the Dawn Cellar where Diluc and other prestigious members of Mondstadt's high society have gathered. Dottore leaves most of the conversation to Krupp, speaking only to express his disdain for the people of Mondstadt. He flees after Diluc delays the negotiations, but returns to silence Krupp when the "Dark Hero" (Diluc in disguise) is about to interrogate him. Confused by the boy's abilities, Dottore leaves, telling him to get stronger.[2] No longer interested in Mondstadt, he bids farewell and abandons the negotiations. He does, however, retrieve Krupp's corpse to transform it into a monster resembling a Guardian of the Ruins. After returning to Snezhnaya, he learns of the Black Fire incident instigated by Collei, which resulted in the deaths of two Fatui diplomats. He is completely uninterested in the matter, however, and leaves it to his subordinate Barnabas.
He reappears in Chapter 16, where he expresses his annoyance that the guards were incompetent enough to let the captured "Obscure Hero" escape, while Barnabas was seriously wounded in the aftermath of his attack on Collei and Amber.
in the game
During Tartaglia's first Legendary Quest, Adventure of the Mighty Cyclops!, he takes his younger brother, Teucer, to see the "Toy Research Institute"; which is actually one of the Dottore's research facilities in Liyue, developed to research the creatures of the Abyss. As a byproduct, it ended up creating an abundance of Ruin Guards, which the young and naive Teucer saw as enormous "Mr. Cyclops" toys.<ref> [[Chapter of Mono]
Dottore, apparently bored with the facilities, abandoned the autonomous factory and left the area without closing it. This resulted in the manufactured Ruins Guards spreading throughout the surrounding area, attracting the attention of the Millelith. It is implied that he was the one who modified Scaramouche.
powers and abilities
Little is known about Dottore's powers as a Messenger, but he is able to transform people into monsters even after the person dies. He is also shown in the manga wielding sharp, floating metal objects that can fire projectiles. Dottore appears to possess a genius-level intellect, as he is an expert with machines, as shown by his ease with them.
curiosities
Like the other Messengers, Dottore's name is derived from a traditional character in commedia dell'arte. "Il Dottore" (The Doctor) is usually extremely rich and bombastic, loving the sound of his own voice. In commedia dell'arte, he typically tries to interfere with the Innamorati (The Lovers). He is also closely linked to Pantalone.
The Fatui Soldiers are probably the weakest product of an "Enhanced Human".
