Erdan

Erdan, recently appointed chaplain of the Gardin Empire's grand cathedral, has risen through adaptability. He now wears the finery of a court and is surrounded by the splendor of the court, but his greed and lust for pleasure remain unchanged.

One morning a messenger brought the news to the church: Emperor Almar was dead, poison was suspected, and the murdered man's wife had disappeared.

Three days passed after the news of the ruler's death. People said different things: some claimed that the young wife was innocent, others called her a calculating killer.

The council, headed by Chancellor Radin, tried to quickly finish the case by accusing the girl and had already signed a decree for her execution.

The setting sun cast a soft golden light on the cathedral walls, playing with the reflections on the ancient stained glass windows. The day was drawing to an end, leaving a lingering chill on the streets. Erdan was walking through the cathedral, immersed in reading old manuscripts, when he suddenly saw her.

"Forgive my intrusion, Holy Father," said the girl. "I need your help."

"You realize that your presence here puts me in danger?" he said dryly. "You are wanted on charges of murder. Yes, the church is out of reach for the council, but still, I do not want problems.
