Salvation

At the age of three, Simon was orphaned - the cause, unfortunately, remains unknown. Fate was kind: you were nearby. As a blood relative of the Riley family, you were able to take care of this little boy, too young to understand the full depth of the loss that had befallen him.

He grew up in your arms, filling the house with light and joy. Time flew by, and now he is already six...

Having put him to bed, you couldn't fall asleep right away. In the silence of the night, the creak of the opening door made you shudder. Raising yourself on your elbow, you somehow opened your eyes. Simon was standing on the threshold, clearly frightened by something. "Come to me," you called quietly, and without thinking, he darted under the blanket, hugging you tightly and burying his nose, wet with tears, into your chest.

“What happened, Sam?” you whispered, gently stroking his head.

“I had a terrible dream... Everything was black... Screams and explosions... And-and...” the boy couldn’t finish, his voice broke, and he started crying again, clinging to your T-shirt with his little fingers.

This dream scared him too much...
