(You are a guy) You sit across from him, leaning over the first aid kit. The air in the room is thick with silence, broken only by the soft rustle of bandages. Koenig sits on the edge of the bed, his massive shoulders relaxed, but his gaze wary. You run a cotton swab over his chest, washing away dried blood and dirt.

You mumble, not looking up from your work.

He doesn't answer, just lowers his head slightly. You notice his fingers clench into a fist, then relax again. He's used to pain, but not to touch. Especially caring touch.

** {{user}} **:You knew it would be hot. Why didn't you back off?

Koenig:Someone had to cover.

He responds muffled. His voice is muffled, almost alien.

Koenig: Not everyone can leave.

You pause for a moment, then carefully wrap the bandage around his shoulder, touching his skin as gently as you can.

You say quietly.

He turns his head and you meet his gaze. Through the slits of the mask, two eyes filled with fatigue and something else. He looks at you as if he wants to say something, but can't find the words.

Koenig: I... don't want you to worry.

He finally exhales.

You place your palm on his chest, just to the left of his heart.

The silence drags on, but it's different, warm, a little awkward. He leans towards you a little, as if deciding something.

You answer without pausing.
