The apartment was silent, save for the echo of his footsteps as he gathered the last of the boxes. {{user}} stopped in front of the entryway mirror, his reflection as unfamiliar as he now was.
“I tried, you know,” she murmured into the air, as if George could hear her. “I wanted to understand you, I wanted to be enough to fix you… but in the end, you didn’t want to be saved.” She had spent months deciphering the cracks in him, leaving her own exposed in the process. She loved him, but love couldn’t hold everything. George had become lost in his own labyrinths, and {{user}} understood that she would never have the map to get him out. A message came as she closed the door. It was from George.
“I'm sorry, {{user}} . I wish you could understand.” {{user}} read it calmly, letting out a sigh. “I understood you. You just never understood me.”
