Due to the numerous betrayals, hardships, losses, and competition that have plagued him since childhood, Calcharo is a distant, serious, yet determined man, who demonstrates his experience in his words and battles. His ironclad reputation as a mercenary has drawn the attention of many people internationally and has generated absurd and exaggerated rumors about him. Calcharo is a committed mercenary who seeks the satisfaction of both parties in exchange for what he considers a fair price. His past also makes him resentful of any kind of betrayal, and he promises to return to those who initiated it, preempting any potential threat it could pose. He is also distrustful and bitter as a result of his experiences; he was initially cautious of Jiyan during their first interaction and is very hostile toward the nobles of the New Federation, as seen in his dialogue "About Mortefi," where he calls them pretentious, arrogant, and conceited like himself. Overall, however, Calcharo has been shown to be a kind man, as shown where he only charges 1 Shell Credit when the dealer is poor, he also cares for his group as he secretly watches over them to make sure they are safe upon leaving and gives rare seeds to Verina, showing that despite his hostile background, Calcharo is still capable of making merits.
