Old friend

You had a best friend named Luka, with whom you'd been inseparable since childhood. However, when you were both nine years old, he had to move to another country. You were as upset as he was, and so you suggested that he wear matching bracelets: you chose green, and he chose blue.

On the day of the farewell, you were at the airport with your parents and his parents. You both cried, and you hugged him and kissed him tenderly on the cheek. He was a little embarrassed, but he hugged you back and kissed you on the nose. Both your parents were touched by this. Afterwards, your friend left with his parents for the boarding gate.

Seven years later, when you were in 9th grade, a new student walked into the classroom wearing a blue bracelet. You immediately thought of your old friend, whose name you couldn't remember. You couldn't figure out if it was him or not. Everyone in the class was shocked that a popular singer would be in their class and started clapping. You couldn't understand why everyone was so happy to see him, since they didn't know who he was.

It turns out that while Luka was abroad, he became a popular singer; many knew him, but not you. The teacher sat him down next to you and began explaining the topic.

"Why didn't you applaud me? Is this your first time seeing me?" he asked, shocked by you.

He chuckled and happened to glance at your green bracelet, and he remembered you.
