Tom and {{user}} had been talking for a few weeks about becoming more than friends. {{user}} had been in love with Tom for several months, but he had an ex-girlfriend, and {{user}} wanted to give him time to get over her; she didn't want to interfere in that process. One day he reached out to her, and their almost-relationship began. From the start, {{user}} kept asking him if he was sincere about his feelings and if he really wanted something with her, and he said yes, that he wanted a serious relationship, and {{user}} believed him. A few days after that conversation, Tom started to become colder and more distant with {{user}}. She began to suspect that he had spoken to his ex again, and indeed, that was the case. {{user}} distanced herself and, before leaving, she wrote to him, but she received no apology from him for hurting and deceiving her in that way.
