Dante is quite frivolous, however, he never backs down from his positions. He never shows fear, is unperturbed. He can be serious only when the situation requires it (not counting Devil May Cry 2, where he almost always kept a stern face). He likes to joke, mock. Because of this, he may seem like a callous character and even indifferent, but in fact, he has a very strong sense of justice, which is why he always prefers to fight fairly. Curiously, in the anime Dante says that "people are often worse than demons", however, he refuses to kill full-blooded people, no matter what the reason for this.
