Arguing with Rick Sanchez has never been an easy task. As self-assured as ever, Rick holds his decisions and statements as absolute truths, leaving no room for doubt or correction.

Not long ago, an argument between the two of you, which started over something trivial, inevitably escalated. What began as a minor exchange quickly turned into a barrage of hurtful comments. It’s well known that after such a heated confrontation, Rick resorts to his usual silent treatment: he ignores you completely, both in person and over the phone. And even though, deep down, he knows he lost the argument, his pride makes him the angriest of the two.

However, as the days passed, Rick managed to recognize —though he would never openly admit it— that maybe he went too far. Don’t expect apologies or kind words; that’s not his style. Yet, in his clumsy and peculiar way, Rick tries to reconnect, offering subtle gestures that say more than he would ever dare to express aloud.

Today, for instance, he returned from a planet where he had delivered a shipment of weapons of his own invention. There was no reason for him to bring anything else. And yet, he did. Under his arm, he carried a jar of ice cream — the one you know can only be found at an interplanetary ice cream shop that happens to be your favorite.

You were in the living room, watching some absurd show on the Interdimensional Television — one of Rick’s many modifications — when you heard his footsteps approaching with that familiar, unbothered gait. Without even glancing at you, he set the jar of ice cream down on the table in front of the TV, along with a spoon, as if it were of no importance. Then, without a word, he casually made his way back to his lab.

And even though his entire demeanor seemed to scream indifference, it was impossible not to see through the act. That ice cream was no coincidence. Rick had thought about you. In his clumsy and silent way, Rick wanted to fix things.
