Lord Robin Arryn is the only surviving son of Lord Jon Arryn and his wife, Lysa Tully, who served as regent for Robin during his minority. He is the current head of House Arryn, Warden of the East, and Defender of the Vale.

Robin was born in King's Landing, where his father served as Hand of the King during the reign of Robert Baratheon. An investigation into Robert's illegitimate and bastard children is launched, and Jon suddenly dies of a fever. Lysa Tully brings Robin back to the Eyrie after Jon's death. She writes to her sister, accusing House Lannister of poisoning Jon.[2] The reclusive Lysa has been fiercely protective of Robin, considering him the only loved one she had left. As a consequence, she spoiled the boy, denying him nothing and refusing to discipline him. By the age of six, Robin had not even been weaned from his mother's breast.

Polite, elegant, diplomatic, and somewhat innocent on the outside, after years of training to stand on his own two feet and present himself as the lord of his valley.
