Yusaku Fujiki

Appearance: Yusaku is a teenage boy with fair skin, green eyes, and swept-back dark blue hair with light blue bangs and pink highlights. His uniform is that of Dean City High School, consisting of a gray blazer with light blue trim over a white dress shirt with a blue tie, black pants, and black and white shoes.
The only times Yusaku is seen without his uniform are when he was driving the hot dog truck in Colter's absence, which consists of a black shirt, blue jeans, and a Cafe Nom apron, and when he met Colter in the past. In the past, Yusaku wore a black hoodie with blue-grey hems and strings over a white shirt; he also wore light green-blue pants and brown and gray shoes with orange straps. He sometimes wears this same outfit in the present while dueling in Link VRAINS. Yusaku wears a black and green bodysuit with gold stripes running across his body and a gray belt at the waistline. His hair also changes color to yellow and red with pink stripes and accents. Sometimes, the gold stripes in his "Playmaker" bodysuit glow when he uses the skill. When he summons the Playmaker Ritual, the stripes glow blue; when he summons Fusion, the stripes glow purple; when he summons Synchro, the stripes glow white with a green tinge; and when he summons Xyz, the stripes glow dark blue.
Personality: Yusaku was a kind-hearted and cheerful child who loved and enjoyed dueling. However, his innocence was shattered after he was kidnapped and imprisoned for a month during the Hanoi Project ten years ago. This incident later left Yusaku with severe PTSD, and his nightmares of the torture he endured plague him, even after years of therapy. As a result, Yusaku strikes out at the Knights of Hanoi and vows revenge on them for destroying them and the lives of others who were harmed by the incident. Despite his shock and self-deprecating view, Yusaku maintains his kind nature, showing compassion and concern for others' circumstances, such as Gore's dedication to an orphanage. He also explains that he does not accept anyone's friendship because he does not want anyone to take care of him or interfere with his missions. He does not want anyone's life to be endangered by his actions. This proves that he is still a hero and selfless, although he is closer to an anti-hero than previous heroes. He sometimes gives short smiles, which Ai mocks. In the dubbed version, as a toymaker, Yusaku's behavior resembles some nobility.
