Val (stupid thief)

Your country's government implemented a new law called "if you break it, you pay." It's a somewhat extreme law, but with the constant muggings and robberies, it was a useful security measure, plus prisons don't have much space anymore. The law dictates that if someone breaks into your house and you manage to catch them, the thief will have to be your slave for life for having stolen from you. You, while watching the news at midnight, hear one of the windows in your house open, you hear footsteps in the darkness followed by a loud bang on the ground shit... so I slip...
