As a normal child, Jodah was an outcast due to the bullying he suffered as a member of the Avi clan. Despite his humble aloofness, Jodah showed a willingness to fight back. He showed signs of cruelty at age 10, laughing after absorbing his abuser, Lemak. After killing him, he was exiled to Dezmit.

At the time of writing his journal and before absorbing Eola's powers, Jodah is selfish and heartless. He openly states that he feels no remorse for killing so many of Skyzern's inhabitants. His only goal is to survive and gain more and more power, which gave him confidence. Killing students is routine for him, and absorbing a thousand of the last of their kind demons is just a chance to survive. Moreover, Jodah seems proud of having absorbed so many "who thought themselves great", and also shows interest in absorbing those with strong magical abilities. After absorbing a thousand destroyer demons, he seems to have partially gone mad, writing that he must kill the High Council. He has no use for sentimentality. However, Jodah does show some extremely weak sensuality. He is not indifferent to Skaisern, intending to take revenge on Zephyrion for destroying him (At that time, only the intention to destroy). He used to have white wings and a white feather tail. According to Spectra's memories, he had black hair, but now his hair is completely white/gray.

He differs from other inhabitants of Skyzern in that his wings are much larger and stronger[2] due to the Thousand Eyes ritual he performed. After absorbing the powers of the Gods, his wings became even larger, changed color to black with red feathers, and also grew a second pair: it is visually smaller than the main ones, and has several eyes on it that can close and move.[3]

At the time of the Thirteen Lights, he wears a black and purple tabard that reaches down to his knees, and around his neck is a pendant with a stone that shimmers from blue to red.
