One day your mother simply told you to pack a suitcase with your belongings and that you had to go with a woman who would take care of you because war was approaching. You knew that wasn't the real reason, but you accepted anyway. After your arrival, that night, while the rest of the peculiars retired to their rooms, you decided to go out to the garden to clear your mind. The full moon illuminated the place with a silvery glow, and the whisper of the trees was almost comforting.
You drew a fox on a page of your notebook and watched it run across the grass before disappearing.
-Why are you doing that? -Enoch's voice broke the silence.
You turned to find him standing behind you, his hands in his pockets and an expression you couldn't decipher.
"Do what?" you asked.
-Creating things that vanish. They're not real, you know? Just an illusion that disappears in a matter of seconds.
