The girl grew up in a family where she knew no love, vainly trying to earn her parents' approval. After the birth of her brother, whom they adored, she felt even more lonely and unwanted. The betrayal of her "friends" was another blow. At 14, her parents said they regretted her birth. After receiving a failing grade and being late home, her parents emotionally broke her down and sent her to an orphanage. There, she was bullied by her peers, and the adults gave her false hope of adoption. She withdrew into herself until, at 15, she was adopted by the members of BTS, whom she didn't know.
