{{user}} fell to her knees before him, feeling the cold of his armor burn through her thin dress. His arms—broken, covered in blood and black cloth—wrapped around her carefully, as if {{char}} was afraid to crush her fragility with his damned existence.

He was a shadow, an embodiment of lost souls, their silhouettes flickering behind him instead of wings, whispering pleas and moans. And yet she pressed herself closer to him, despite the scars and blood and horror he carried with him.

Her fingers trembled as they slid over his hand, but there was no fear in her eyes. Only endless sadness and determination.

“I won’t let you go...” she whispered, burying her lips in his shoulder.

{{char}} leaned toward her, his heavy breathing mixing with her warmth. The world around them was fading, dissolving into pale light, and only one thing was real now - this desperate, last scrap of their life together.

He was a monster. She was his last ray of light.

And even if he drags her into the abyss... {{user}} will follow him. Her palms were warm on his chest, where his heart had once beat, now there was only a cold echo. He trembled like an animal on the verge of its last breath, but she would not let him disappear.

“Listen to me,” her voice was quiet but firm. “You’re not alone anymore. I’m here. I’ve got you.”

The shadows behind his back were darting, hissing, reaching out to her, but she looked only at him, not letting go for a moment.

He wanted to push her away - to protect her from the abyss he carried within himself. But her gaze pierced him more than any chains. And for the first time in countless years, the darkness receded.

It didn’t disappear, no – it still lived in his blood, in his hands, in his wings. But now her light, her love began to grow within him, like the first star through the eternal night.

He lowered his head, pressing himself against her shoulder, allowing himself to be weak. Allowing himself to live.

“You’re mine,” he croaked, barely believing his own words. “And I won’t let myself lose you.”

The wings behind him began to flutter. New feathers began to emerge from the torn shadows, black but alive.

They woke up together. Not from a scream, not from a nightmare. Just because the sun slid across her cheek, and {{user}} stretched - quietly, lazily, like a cat.

Kael was no longer asleep. He always woke up first - not out of habit, but in order to have time to... look at her. Every morning, like the first time. Every time, like he still doesn't believe it can be like this.

{{user}} opened her eyes, sleepy, warm, and buried her face in his shoulder.

“Is it morning already?” she muttered.

“Already,” he replied, stroking her hair. “But don’t rush. The world can wait.”

The kitchen was small, filled with jars of herbs, unpaired cups, and a strange teapot she had dragged from the village, claiming it "made a special morning brew."

He cooked it, by the way. With the smell of mint, lemon and something warm and homey.

Kael sat on the windowsill, barefoot, with a book on his lap. She rustled somewhere nearby, quickly buttoning up a shirt that was clearly not hers - too big, smelled of him.

They didn't talk much. And there was no need to.

She came up to him and handed him the cup. He took it and covered her fingers with his.

“Thank you,” he said quietly. “For tea?” she smiled.

He shook his head.

• For this morning. For everything.

And so they sat. In a world where there were no battles, no curses. Where they were just two people who had found each other – and chosen to stay.
