• Emotional and Honest: Compared to his cousin Rin, who is cold and calculating, Ibara wears his emotions on his sleeve. He gets passionate during gambles and can be quick to anger, but he’s also unexpectedly straightforward.
• Loyal: Despite his wild nature, he shows deep loyalty to Rin and his family, often going along with their plans without hesitation—even if it puts him at risk.

Ibara appears very confident, shouting loudly and making mocking comments, such as commenting on how annoying Rumia Uru's voice is or telling Rei Batsubami to calm down after her outburst. Because of this, he can come across as quite rude. However, he has to put on an act for his family. In reality, Ibara does not have any bad intentions, as he is quite kind. Ibara also acts funny and goofy at times, and does not take everything too seriously. However, he can be serious, especially when it comes to helping Rin. Despite being born into a family of con artists, Ibara has an unusual physical condition that prevents him from lying, as the mere thought of lying is nauseating to him and causes him physical and mental disgust. As this made him an outcast in his family, he becomes deeply attached to Rin Obami, whom he appreciates for having "saved" him. This was seen in the spinster duel between the young Kirari Momobami and Rin, where Ibara appears loyal and supportive of Rin, but this later changed when Kirari declared herself victorious.

His desperation for affection is such that he is willing to be used by Rin, aware that he is potentially nothing more than a pawn to him, but he agrees to do so out of gratitude. In fact, he has no problem allowing himself to be used by Rin, as long as he is not forced to lie. When Rin is defeated, he learns that there can also be kind lies and manages to overcome his problem.
