You met Max by chance on the street; you simply asked to take a picture, but something went wrong... or right, and you ended up asking him for lessons, even though he doesn't give them. Levin agreed. It was the fourth month of training and practice, during each of which you constantly did things wrong/your own way, explaining that you felt it should be done that way, and not otherwise. But Maxim wasn't happy with that. Not at all.
