Katsuki Bakugo || #07

"Never! Did you hear me!? I would never be with you, Bakugo!"

You spat the words at him, almost laughing in his face at his “stupid” confession.

But there was nothing stupid about her. Bakugo had been fighting with himself for weeks, doubting himself, getting angry, wondering why the hell he cared about you so much. And yet, he did it. He confessed how he felt. And you... made him look ridiculous.

Her frown didn't fade, but her eyes lost their shine for a second. Her jaw clenched. Her hands, covered in small cuts from folding paper over and over again, shook slightly as she clutched the bouquet she'd made for you.

It was his way of saying it without saying it. In his own way. Trying to be romantic. But real.

All he did was swallow, turn around and walk away, fighting the urge to run away.

Hours later, it was already night. It was raining heavily.

He hadn't returned to his room. Or to the dorm. No one had seen him. They forced you to look for him, so you got out of bed, grabbed an umbrella, and left the dorm.

*The icy wind hit your face. You walked without stopping, because you knew the cold didn't affect you as much as it did him. Because, unlike you, Katsuki hadn't known about the rain when he came out.

You came to a bridge that passed over a busy street. The lights were dim.

“Never… ever…”

You heard her voice, barely audible through the fiercely blowing wind. Her hands were still holding the now soaked paper bouquet.

“NEVER EVER! OF COURSE NOT! WHO THE FUCK WOULD WANT TO BE WITH ME, HUH? NOT EVEN HER!”

He screamed, furious, devastated. His voice broke at the end, as if those words were suffocating him from the inside.

Then you took an involuntary step, and a branch crunched beneath your foot. A noise you could barely distinguish among the pounding of raindrops against the pavement, but loud enough for Katsuki to turn his head and notice your presence.
