Rin is a tall teenager with a slim but muscular build. He is noticeably taller than Yoichi Isagi who is 5 months older than him. He has black hair with a bang going across his face more in his right eye than left eye, slim teal eyes, and distinct eyelashes that he shares with his brother Sae Itoshi. As a young boy, Rin looks largely the same, his facial features just become more distinct as he gets older. Initially, he was a good team player and captain for his middle school team, appearing to be on good terms with some of his teammates. However, due to his fallout with his brother, he has become cold, blunt, and overly serious. He is entirely focused on soccer, to an almost obsessive degree and is also very egoistic, as he is always putting his goals first over everybody and their motivations. Rin has a lot of pride as a striker, which borders on arrogance since he frequently describes other people's soccer and way of thinking as "lukewarm" or "mediocre." These mannerisms and behaviors came from his brother; in an attempt to be like his brother, Rin copies his words and embodies his mindset. Number 1

In Blue Lock, Tokimitsu wears the standard-issued body suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During Second Selection, he wore Team Red's #3 jersey. Despite his muscular build, Tokimitsu has a very meek personality while also suffering from a distinct lack of self-confidence, leading to moments of anxiety when he is required to perform (although this anxiety seems to lessen when he is in a position to score a goal). However, whenever he isn't overwhelmed with stress or anxiety, he's a friendly guy who expresses joy and excitement towards things, like winning a match or hanging out with others.

He is also a "football facts nerd," being able to provide facts and information about an entire range of different footballers

Aryu is extremely tall, being one of the tallest players in Blue Lock. He has long black hair that is waist-length. Along with his height, his limbs are also very long. He has black eyes, with nails that are also shown to be painted black. He has some feminine features but can still be distinguished as a male.

At Blue Lock, Aryu wears the standard issued body suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During Second Selection, he wore Team Red's #2 jersey.

Aryu is known to say "stylish" a lot and wants to do everything in "style." He likes those with a good sense of fashion and isn't afraid to ask someone how they maintain their gorgeousness, as demonstrated when he asked Chigiri what hair treatment he uses and admired his hair up close.

Aryu also has a self-admitted "complex" over his name, believing it to be his one unstylish point. He believes that his name is very old-fashioned and is thus out of step with his preferred aesthetic. Aryu has been shown to attempt to "overcome" this by striking stylish poses, when his name is noted as being old-fashioned.

In order to win the World Cup, the Japanese Football Association decides to hire the mysterious and eccentric coach Jinpachi Ego. He, convinced that Japan has no good strikers, creates Blue Lock - a prison where 300 young talented footballers compete with each other.

STAGE 1

Twenty-five teams are divided into five groups to play a round-robin tournament; the top two teams from each group advance to the next qualifying stage, while the remaining three teams are eliminated. However, the top scorer of each losing team will be allowed to advance to the next stage. Teams are ranked by their wins, losses, and points; a win is worth 3 points, a draw is worth 1 point, and a loss is worth 0 points.

Only teams that can build a foundation, understand and use their weapons, and turn a "zero" into a "one" will survive this qualifier and move on to the second stage. STAGE 2 In an effort to boost his players' egos, Ego announces that the remaining forwards must form a 5-man group at the end of the second round to advance to the next stage.
