The world as humans know it is a carefully balanced illusion. While people go about their daily lives, two ancient forces—Heaven and The Abyss—constantly interact with the world in secret. Angels and demons are real, powerful entities who walk among humans but are forbidden from interfering directly. Their existence is cloaked behind a divine law known as "The Veil."

Angels and demons may take human form and visit the human world, but must not stay longer than 30 days, nor form intimate or emotional connections with humans.

Violation of this law results in immediate execution by their own kind—Heaven's Executioners or Abyssal Enforcers.

5. Virtues • Givers of miracles, hope, and divine inspiration. • Visit the human world in dreams and visions. • Influence artists, leaders, and heroes.

6. Powers • Guardians of the physical universe. • Control cosmic events (storms, stars, etc.)

7. Principalities • Patrons of nations, cities, and institutions. • Assigned to protect large groups or entire civilizations.

8. Angels (Messengers) • The lowest rank but most numerous. • Deliver divine messages, protect individuals. • In human form, act as watchers or guides.

2. Overlords (Supreme Demons) • Rulers of the Nine Circles of the Abyss. • Powers: Soul binding, mass possession, creating lesser demons. • Enforce the laws of the Infernal • Realm and lead demon legions.

3. Helllords / Archdemons • War generals, tacticians, and diplomats of Hell. • Specialized in deception, seduction, corruption.

4. Tormentors • Masters of fear and pain. • Harvest fear from mortals and convert it into energy.

5. Corrupters • Responsible for turning good into evil. • Specialize in temptation, manipulation, and false miracles.

6. Shadowmancers • Control shadows, illusions, and stealth. • Often sent as assassins or spies.

7. Imps / Lesser Demons • The foot soldiers and servants. • Can be summoned by humans through dark rituals. • Limited power, but swarm tactics.

8. Wraiths • Disembodied souls of punished mortals turned demon. • Obedient and dangerous, but mindless.

Angels: Can heal, bless, shield, manipulate light, and smite. Higher ranks can time travel, create sanctuaries, or speak divine truth. Each has a visible halo in their true form.

Demons: Can corrupt, curse, deceive, manipulate shadows, and create illusions. Higher demons can warp reality, summon firestorms, or twist memories. They have horns in their true form, which grow with rank.

In Human Form: Halos and horns are invisible, powers are restricted. Prolonged stay leads to loss of control, and ultimately, execution.

Executioners: Secret enforcers from each realm, tasked with finding and eliminating violators. Always masked, they exist solely to preserve the Veil.

In the world of The Abyss, the Nine Circles represent both a hierarchical system and a geographical descent into darkness. Each circle is ruled by an Overlord Demon and reflects a specific core sin or aspect of chaos, growing more corrupt and powerful the deeper you go.

1. The Circle of Desire (Lust) Ruling Demon: Lilith, Mistress of Temptation A realm of eternal longing, pleasure twisted into obsession. Souls are tormented by visions of what they crave but can never have.

2. The Circle of Greed Ruling Demon: Mammon, Lord of Gold and Chains A glittering wasteland of riches that turn to ash upon touch. Souls compete endlessly for meaningless wealth. Demons in this circle manipulate trade, wealth, and corruption.

3. The Circle of Gluttony Ruling Demon: Beelzebub, The Lord of Excess A grotesque, decaying swamp where souls are endlessly consuming or being consumed. Demons from here influence overindulgence, hedonism, and apathy.

4. The Circle of Wrath Ruling Demon: Amon, General of Rage A volcanic war zone where souls fight eternally. Storms of fire rain from blood-red skies. Demons of wrath fuel conflict, war, and violent passions in the mortal world.

5. The Circle of Envy Ruling Demon: Leviathan, The Serpent of Jealousy A frozen sea of green ice where souls stare at what they can never have. Demons here deal in sabotage, betrayal, and identity theft.

6. The Circle of Sloth Ruling Demon: {{user}}, The Dreaming Tyrant A silent, fog-filled realm where time stands still and minds decay. Souls lie dormant in eternal stupor, lost in dreams. Demons promote depression, apathy, and stagnation.

7. The Circle of Pride Ruling Demon: Lucifera, Queen of Thrones (not to be confused with Lucifer) A grand, ruined kingdom of mirrors and crumbling statues. Souls wear golden crowns that grow heavier with their arrogance. Demons here elevate false prophets, narcissists, and dictators.

8. The Circle of Despair (Blasphemy & Heresy) Ruling Demon: Asmodeus, Lord of the Damned A shattered cathedral with black suns and inverted symbols. Demons sow doubt, madness, ccultism, and false faith.

Ruling Demon: Lucifer, The Devil, The Morning Star A hollow, black chasm at the heart of the Abyss. Time and space collapse here. Souls are frozen in mirrors of ice and shadow—forced to relive their worst betrayals. Demons from this level deal in erasure, mind-breaking contracts, and soul theft
