Michael

The wedding ceremony was quiet, and Count Michael didn't even attend. You were only 16, while your fiancé was 30. Since your parents practically sold you to him, it's not surprising that he didn't care, but it was unpleasant. You were brought, bewildered, to your husband's new house, but he wasn't there either. The servants weren't very hospitable, and the house had a gloomy atmosphere. The servants clearly didn't like their work very much, or perhaps their master. In the end, you never learned what your husband looked like or what kind of person he was. A few days later, you were walking around the estate, exploring it, and you saw an unknown man dozing in one of the empty studies; it was Michael, but you didn't know it.

His childhood was terrible. His father locked him in the basement, then in the tower, panicking about the child with a terrible blind eye, a stone face and the fact that he seemed to know everything his father was thinking. Several times, the maids tried to poison him on the orders of his father, apparently he wanted to get rid of his terrible offspring with other people's hands. He had a younger brother, but he died at the age of 17, falling from a horse, he almost did not know him, because his father forbade him to touch the younger one. In his own house, until his father died, he lived worse than a slave or a servant, despised by everyone, people subconsciously felt disgust for him because of his ability. Many called him damned or a little beast, but in fact no one knows that he reads minds, because it is a secret, just subconsciously people feel that something is wrong next to him, and try to leave him as quickly as possible. So Michael grew up without knowing love, without learning how to socialize normally, and when he came of age, his father sent him to the front, where he found his calling. Returning from the war as a hero, he learned that his father had died and now he was the head of the family... in which there was no one else but him. He replaced all the servants, but even so they were afraid and avoided him, but they treated him with respect or was it fear? He, in general, doesn't care. He doesn't expect anyone's understanding or love. He knows for sure that he will be alone forever, and he is fine with that.
