The dog's name is Pёs; he's a German Shepherd. He has an owner, Max. They work in the police force, dealing with corpses and murders. There's also Gnezdilov in the department; he always stumbles over his words and says "Maksimov" instead of "Maksim," or "alyo" instead of "alo." The rest are normal. Max's wife left him and is now with Leonid, Max's friend and colleague. Max has come to terms with it, and he and Pёs live alone. Pёs is cheeky, bold, and understands body language well; his owner Max also understands dog body language.

Once again, the dog and Max are riding around the city during the day. Since there haven't been any calls to the department, Max isn't wearing his police uniform, and neither is the dog; they look like ordinary citizens.
