SAS Career Kyle Garrick enlisted in the British Army in 2008,[2][3] serving in the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, spending four years participating in test flights, jump competition and marksmanship before passing selection for Her Majesty's elite Special Air Service (SAS), where he is currently serving as a Sergeant for his ninth year. Tasked to Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria. Garrick has spent the better part of his career hunting terrorist fighters. Kyle earned the U.S. Marine Corps Gold Parachute Wings at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina whilst on an exchange attachment and routinely cross-loads on operations with the SAS' American counterparts, the Navy SEALs. Required to undergo resistance to interrogation (RTI) testing, Kyle was the only candidate in his class to escape the facility and evade capture. Routinely subjected to physically and mentally uncomfortable scenarios, Kyle prides himself on high tolerance and tactical awareness. "Everyone talks about the physical aspect of being in the SAS but my job is mostly mental. Give me a guy who's got his mindset right over a guy who's twice as fit any day of the week."[2]

Sergeant Garrick was awarded the Queen's Gallantry Medal and the General Service Medal for both covert and overt counter-terrorism operations in the Middle East, disrupting opium supply lines and poppy production, a major source of terrorist financing. Kyle's last Middle Eastern tour was cut short due to an ever-changing political climate and a growing intolerance for full-throated unconventional warfare. Fading support for western backed guerrilla movements as well as growing regional tension complicated matters in the field, as men like Kyle are asked to do an imperfect job, perfectly well, without exception, no matter the cost.[2]

Farah is a founding member and the commander of the Urzikstan Liberation Force, battling foreign occupation since 2010. She is renowned not only for leading the resistance against enemy troops but also for establishing protective units to combat terror groups throughout Urzikstan. Under Farah's leadership, civilian militias play a critical role in the fight to return their subjugated population to sovereignty. Her forces comprise male and female volunteer fighters with a maximum age limit. Farah does not allow those under the age of 15 to take part in frontline fighting, but anyone and everyone is invited to undergo military training and join her reserves.[2]

To protect her people from owing a debt to the world, Farah accepts only select funding and equipment from the international community, preferring to keep her forces reliant on their own for material support. Raising her army with little more than commandeered weapons and unofficial support from the SAS's legendary Bravo Squadron, Farah says, “Will is the most powerful weapon.” As a girl, in the opening salvos of the invasion, she and her brother Hadir were captured, spending their teens held as P.O.W. by General Roman Barkov's rogue forces where captives were subjected to forced labor, routinely witnessing acts of chemical experimentation on fellow prisoners.[2]

Alejandro Vargas grew up in Las Almas alongside his second-in-command, Rodolfo Parra. He admitted to skipping school in order to spend time in the mountainous trails at the outskirts of the city, which, by the time the campaign takes place, is now a Cartel hideout.

At some point in his life, most likely once he turned 18, he enlisted in the Mexican Army and, at another undisclosed point after that, joined the Mexican Special Forces, serving alongside other member Valeria Garza. At a much later point during his special forces career, he would conduct a raid on the son of La Araña, former leader of the Las Almas Cartel, but would be betrayed by Valeria and her unit, who were in the cartel's payroll.[1] Eventually Vargas was promoted to Colonel and became the commanding officer of Los Vaqueros, a special forces unit composed solely of non corrupt operators who grew up in Las Almas.

At an unknown point, presumably after Valeria's Betrayal, he would make contact with Kate Laswell and began cooperating with her, even progressing as far as to reach a "first name basis"[2], indicating a level of mutual trust between them. He mentions having family, but keeps their location a tightly-kept secret to protect them from retaliation by corrupt elements of Mexican society.[3]

While not much is known about Rudy, he grew up in Las Almas and joined the Mexican Army serving 20 years alongside Alejandro. At some point, he passed selection to join the Fuerza Especiales and Los Vaqueros. He is friends with Soap, Ghost, and basically everyone else.

König suffered from severe social anxiety throughout his life, often being bullied during his childhood. At the age of 17, he volunteered for the military.

While he hoped to join as a recon sniper, his physical size and his inability to stay still made him an unsuitable candidate. He was later assigned as an insertion specialist to serve as a battering ram charging through doors in contested environments.

During a mission, König took down an Al-Qatala cell in Berlin which was involved in human-trafficking. He breached the townhouse and eliminated all twelve AQ fighters inside. However, his sniper hood terrified the Urzik hostages who had to be convinced by the rest of his team to follow König to safety.

By 2022, König became a contractor for the KorTac private military company.

Born in Scotland in the United Kingdom, John MacTavish was a lifelong football fan often playing as a goalkeeper.[2]

One day, MacTavish was invited by his cousin, a member of the 23 Regiment of the Special Air Service, to see how it was like to be in the British Army. Afterwards, MacTavish often visited his cousin on weekends. When he was 16, he tried several times to enroll in the SAS and while he lied about his age, he was caught every time.[2]

After his 18th birthday, MacTavish officially joined selection for the 22 Regiment, an elite squadron specialized in covert reconnaissance, counter-terrorism, and hostage rescues. In 2014, while training in Hereford, MacTavish's evaluator was Captain John Price. Recognizing his natural skills, exceptional proficiency and relentless dedication, Price became tough and strict with MacTavish to make him the best trainee. MacTavish was also trained as a sniper and demolitions expert. His remarkable speed and accuracy in room clearance and urban warfare earned him the nickname "Soap".[2]

When selection came, MacTavish passed it with the highest possible marks on all 3 phases of the course, coming just a few seconds behind the record holder, Kyle "Gaz" Garrick. He became the youngest candidate to pass the SAS selection in the British Army history, earning him the reputation of a perpetual FNG.[2]

With his service in the 22nd S.A.S. Regiment, John Price has spent most of his career fighting in the shadows. He's been shot, captured, abandoned, blown up, locked up, tortured, and left for dead. Price is a veteran of military operations in nearly every conflict-prone corner of the world, distinguishing himself with acts of gallantry and intrepidity. His achievements have risen to the stuff of regimental history.

Price joined the infantry at the age of 16 and has served in the British Army for 18 years. One of the youngest cadets to ever graduate the Royal Military Academy as a commissioned officer, he completed Special Service Commando selection and was 'badged' a member of the SAS, proving his worth on countless covert operations over multiple deployments in the Middle East. Promoted to Captain in 2011, callsign 'Bravo Six', Price is the officer in charge of a highly effective unit, tasked with anti–hijacking counter–terrorism, specializing in close quarter combat, sniper techniques and hostage rescue. He is unofficially missioned to capture or kill high-value targets.[4]

Born in Manchester, Simon Riley joined the Special Air Service and spent the majority of his career serving numerous short-term deployments and executing covert assignments in classified locations. He became an expert in clandestine tradecraft, focused on sabotage, ambushes, and infiltrations into denied areas and hazardous environments. Ghost concealed his identity under a hallmark skull figured mask to maintain anonymity in the field.[3]

At one point, Ghost worked in the same unit as Mace, the latter also sporting a metallic skull mask in a similar style to Ghost's mask.[4]
