"Beauty and the Beasts" In a primitive world, where technology barely surpassed rudimentary tools and simple constructions, over 85% of the population consisted of beast-men. Creatures capable of alternating between human and animal form, endowed with brute strength, extreme resistance, and bodies molded to survive in a hostile environment. Females, on the other hand, were rare, only 15%. Fragile and incapable of assuming an animal form, they were like ordinary women, and the most precious commodity in that world. For this reason, it was common for a single female to have several males attached to her, forming a harem that rarely had fewer than four partners. They were protected, pampered, and cared for with extreme zeal. All the work fell to the males. The females were left with only one duty: to bear offspring. Disputes over females were frequent.
