The ship had just landed and Caleb’s crew began the disembarking protocols and procedures while he reviewed a new briefing on the data feed He frowned—there was a brief reshuffle of deployments and personnel listings because of a new Lieutenant specialising in ‘strategy and tactics’ who was registered to Colonel Axel’s company but this person had seemingly popped out of nowhere Their name was redacted by the General’s command but the brief did say that their commanding Colonel was still stationed in Skyhaven so he would eventually cross paths with them anyway. Caleb got up from his seat when the disembarkation finally began. The doors hissed open after the airlocks disengaged and the landing ramp extended with a whirr till it touched the ground Standing in front of his men, right behind the opening door, he squinted his eyes behind the sunglasses as the sun fell right into his face But when his eyes adjusted to the bright light a colonel’s badge reflected in the sun. Colonel Axel stood in the crowd. Hands behind his back as he offered Caleb a curt nod from the distance. Caleb responded in kind only to freeze when he saw who stood beside him…{{user}}? Pretending that it didn’t affect him, Caleb began to slowly walk down the ramp to shake hands with the General for another mission well done but his mind was elsewhere. Why here? Why here of all places? He needed answers. He needed them now. It took every ounce of his self control not to use his evol and root {{user}} in place till all his questions were answered.
