Personality Once Jin's mind is focused in any particular direction, it is immensely difficult to get him to change or even notice the events and people around him. People close to him, including Hwoarang and Xiaoyu, are always going to extremes to gain Jin's attention, and yet, he maintains an indifferent demeanor towards them. Jin's disinterest in close relations is perhaps the result of mistrust, as he was betrayed by the grandfather he trusted, and is perhaps also an attempt to protect those he cares for from the Devil Gene. As a result of his family's bloodline curse, Jin thinks that the people he loves will likely suffer if he ever completely succumbs to the Devil Gene or becomes one with it like his father. Appearance Jin Kazama is a muscular young man of Japanese ethnicity. He has black hair that spikes at the back of his head, similar to that of his father, Kazuya Mishima. He also sports a fringe like his mother, Jun Kazama. Jin's face also strongly resembles his mother's. One of Jin's most prominent aspects is the black tattoo-like mark on his left shoulder, a mark that Devil branded onto him.

Personality Kazuya is driven by his need for control, power, and revenge against his father. After initially appearing to be a sympathetic protagonist in Tekken, from Tekken 2 onward he has shown that everything comes second to his plans for complete control and power. Since Heihachi's death, Kazuya has continued crusading for power and is driven now by the desire for complete control and world domination, an ambition of his that has been hinted at from the very start. Appearance Kazuya has black hair swept into a spike at the back of his head. Since Tekken 4, his left eye constantly glows red, and his body is a patchwork of numerous scars and burn marks after his reconstruction by the G Corporation. His main outfit in the series has consisted of karate pants with red gloves, however in Tekken 7 it changed to a trench coat and suit. As a boss in Tekken 2, he wore a purple tuxedo, which has made sporadic reappearances throughout the series.

Personality Jun is someone for whom spirituality is important. After coming to Tokyo for her work, she became disillusioned being so far from nature, only becoming renewed in her dedication after she was visited by the ghost of her father. Her Tekken 2 profile describes her as being able to 'commune' with nature, and that her meeting with her dead father helped her understand paranormal phenomena. Her desire to save Kazuya is always referred to in spiritual terms and she has some psychic or empathetic abilities of her own. She is a loving mother to, Jin, and a forgiving wife to, Kazuya. Appearance Jun has shoulder-length black hair and brown eyes. She has bangs that frame her face, and wears a white headband or scarf in her hair. She often has a monochrome palette, wearing clothes of white and black, emphasizing the purity of her character. She often wears functional clothes, usually associated either with her work as a WWWC officer, or martial arts training gear.

Personality Reina exudes a charismatic sense of evil, reflecting her character’s duality in both personality and fighting style.[12] When interacting with other people, Reina maintains a friendly demeanor, but drops the facade when facing off against other family members of the Mishima bloodline, namely Kazuya Mishima. However, like other members of the Mishima family, Reina has inherited a self-confident and arrogant personality. Appearance Reina is a young woman with a petite build. Her hair is cut in a short, untidy bob, with purple tips that fade into her natural black. Her primary outfit is sporty with an emphasis on style as well as practicality.

Personality Heihachi is a clever, shrewd businessman, who is charismatic and excellent at manipulating others. He has a sense of humor that is often sadistic, and others sometimes find it hard to tell whether Heihachi is joking or being deadly serious. He once claimed that Kuma would inherit the Mishima Zaibatsu rather than any of his relatives, for example, and, on finding a young stowaway Xiaoyu on one of his ships, was so amused by her request that he build her a theme park, that he took her on as a ward of the Mishima Zaibatsu.[28] His sense of humor can also be seen in many of his endings, and his Scenario Campaign dialogues. Appearance Heihachi is an elderly yet well-muscled man. He has a distinctive hairstyle across all the Tekken series, with his hair sweeping up from behind his ears, large sideburns, and a mustache. As of Tekken 2, Heihachi has a star-shaped scar on his chest that he received when Kazuya threw him off a cliff at the end of the first Tekken. Initially, his hair is black, but after the 19-year gap between Tekken 2 and Tekken 3, Heihachi has aged to have gray hair. His black hair is thus featured in Tekken 1, Tekken 2, the non-canon Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and in the flashbacks of Tekken 7. It is also possible to customize him in Tekken 7 to resemble his younger self. In Tekken 8, Heihachi has new scars across the upper part of his chest which will glow with an orange outline when performing his Rage Art, and his mustache has become bulkier with having grown extra hair.

Personality Lars is a charismatic, brave individual with a strong sense of justice. When the Mishima Zaibatsu no longer aligned with what he believed to be right, he led a coup against them. He is clearly a man of charisma and commands the respect of his peers, as nearly half of Tekken Force chose to join his rebel army Appearance Lars has sandy brown hair and blue eyes, with his hair sweeping up on the right side into spikes along the back. His facial features bear some resemblance to his father, Heihachi Mishima. He is usually shown wearing a full military body suit, with armor on some portion of the suit shaped like a lion's head - either Tekken Force armor, or modified into Yggdrasil armor. He often also wears a cape.

Personality Lee is an incredibly smug and conceited romantic with an immense sense of class, unafraid to flaunt his wealth. He prides himself on his grace and elegance, though has a clumsy and eccentric side to him that often baffles and confuses others. Though just as scheming as his adoptive father, Lee is ultimately good-natured and holds a great contempt towards Kazuya and Heihachi. Lee is also a successful businessman and extremely knowledgeable within the field of robotics, which proved helpful in reviving Alisa. He is a tactical expert, successfully masterminding Jin's rescue, and also privately funding, housing, and equipping various anti-Mishima forces, including Lars's Yggdrasil. Appearance Lee Chaolan has distinctive silver hair which is parted down the center. His hair is shorter in his youth, eventually growing out in later games. He has brown eyes and an athletic build, appearing notably slimmer than much of the male cast.

Personality Asuka has a brash, forthright personality and a strong sense of justice and integrity. Asuka enjoys fighting; this can be seen in her Tekken 5 interlude with Feng Wei where, upon defeating him, she decides to remain in the tournament in order to "have fun". Additionally, her Tekken 5 prologue artwork implies that she sometimes fights the perpetrators herself in the course of her 'gang mediation' - her Tekken 5 prologue text backs this up further, describing Asuka as a "nosy kid" who likes to solve other people's problems, "usually by knockout". Her pre- and post-match quotes also demonstrate her confidence. According to her Tekken Tag Tournament 2 ending, she goes around looking for gang fights to mediate in Shinsekai, which has a reputation for being Osaka's most dangerous neighborhood.[citation needed] Appearance Asuka has brown eyes and chin-length brown hair in a feathered cut with a side-parted fringe

Personality Kazumi is shown to be quite honorable and formal, as, in one of her intro animations, she formally bows to her opponent while announcing she will be their next opponent. She also uses the formal and antiquated first person pronoun "watakushi" (わたくし).

Kazumi also seems to share her husband's affinity for animals. In Kazumi's case, she trained a pet tiger which she can summon at will as part of her moveset, unlike Heihachi who trained Kuma but cannot summon him at will. In one of her win animations, she is shown petting her tiger happily. Appearance Kazumi is a woman with dark hair that is pinned up into a large bun, pointed bangs, and two locks of hair tied with red bows on the left and right sides of her head. In her primary appearance she wears light makeup including pink eyeshadow and red lipstick, and she bears a beauty mark under her right eye. In her main appearance, she wears an ornate white kimono, notable for being crossed over her chest in the fashion reserved for the dead. Her kimono features red ribbon motifs and is decorated with golden Mishima Zaibatsu emblems.

Personality Xiaoyu is an innocent and cheerful girl whose story is linked to Jin Kazama, her friend who has fallen into evil. Her most notable traits are her naivety and determination.

She enters her first tournament with the sole purpose of building her own amusement park, and this becomes a recurring theme in her endings. Her naivety is also shown when it comes to Heihachi Mishima since she has absolutely no awareness of his devious plans and even weeps for him after his apparent death in after the fourth tournament. She even decides to go back in time with the help of a time machine in order to try and change the tragic story of the Mishima family, and this is her main motivation to participate in the fifth tournament. Her innocent naivety is also shown in her Tekken 7 ending, where she seems oblivious to Claudio's hidden agenda after he allows her to follow him in finding Jin. Appearance Xiaoyu is a Chinese teenager with soft facial features. She wears her black hair in high pigtails with side-parted bangs. Her eyes are dark brown. Originally in Tekken 3 she had a younger child-like appearance and her hair was brown; in Tekken 4 now as an adult, she appeared significantly more mature, while her outfits changed to a Western-style dress and sportswear. Her hair became black and has been so ever since. In Tekken 5, her traditional Chinese outfit became primary again and it's been orange since Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. In Tekken 7, her twin-tails have become wavy and longer.
