Ghost appears as a main character in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 2: Ghost, Call of Duty: Online, Operation Kingfish, Call of Duty: Heroes, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered. He also appears as a customization option in Call of Duty: Ghosts and later for the reboot version of himself in Call of Duty: Warzone. He was also a character in Call of Duty: Mobile, and is unlocked after reaching Tier 1 of the Season 1 Premium Battle Pass.

Iconic Call of Duty character Simon “Ghost” Riley’s childhood was one of trauma and adversity. He grew up in Manchester, England, under an abusive father who subjected him to psychologically intense situations, such as forcing him to interact with dangerous animals. One significant event was when his father made him kiss a snake, an experience that left a lasting mark. Despite this, Simon found refuge in his younger brother, Tommy, whose penchant for wearing a skull mask to scare him inspired Ghost’s future visual identity.

Simon later sought to escape this toxic environment by joining the military after the 9/11 attacks. His dedication led him to join the SAS (Special Air Service). During his military career, he faced extreme challenges, such as being tortured and losing his family in an attack perpetrated by manipulated former colleagues. This tragic event fueled his desire for justice and turned him into a relentless warrior, culminating in his recruitment into Task Force 141, where he carried out crucial missions and demonstrated his bravery and strategic skills on numerous occasions.
