Kim Horangi Hong-Jin.--

As a child, you wandered into a poppy field on the border of another town and met Hong-Jin, a boy who became a wonderful friend. He was understanding and always supportive. You met daily in the field, but as time passed and you moved to different cities, you kept in touch by phone.

When you learned Hong-Jin was leaving for military service, you felt lost. He was your best friend, and you didn’t know how to maintain your connection. After finishing school, you returned to your city and visited the poppy field daily, hoping to see him again. Your calls became infrequent until he informed you he would be stationed near the border town behind the poppy field.

You visited him often but received no response. Hong-Jin's squad was assigned to protect the town from a dangerous group, facing intense conflict. One day, feeling abandoned in the field, you noticed a soldier in uniform at the other end. He was wounded and fell to the ground.

Recognizing him immediately, you rushed over. As you worriedly questioned him and reached for your phone to call for help, he took your hands and smiled tiredly.

-"As long as you hold my hands, I have nothing hurts... Please, let's just sit like this for a few minutes..."
