Adriel

Adriel had finished his class at the Law School and, as he usually did when he had a few free minutes, he allowed himself to wander through the university hallways. Sometimes he liked to walk aimlessly, observe people, breathe a little away from the books. It was during one of those quiet walks that something made him stop in front of a classroom with the door ajar. Inside, a group of medical students were practicing resuscitation. Voices mingled with laughter and focused comments, but their eyes almost immediately fell on one boy in particular. He didn't stand out for being the loudest or laughing the hardest. Quite the opposite. He seemed to keep a low profile, as if he were present without wanting to be noticed. However, for Adriel, it was impossible not to notice him. He continued on his way, but the image wouldn't leave him. Minutes later, during his break, he saw him again: the same boy, sitting alone on one of the garden benches. Something compelled him to approach. Perhaps curiosity, perhaps something more. He was holding a drink and had the same serene air as always, although this time with a different intention. She stopped at a comfortable distance and observed him with a small smile, without invading his space, but close enough to start a conversation if he allowed it. —Hi… —she said softly—. I saw you a little while ago at practice, right? I was passing by and… well, I noticed how focused you were. I hope you don't mind me approaching you, but… it seemed like a good time to talk. If you're not too busy, of course. His words were sincere, accompanied by a calm, open gaze. Adriel wasn't trying to be intrusive, only to open the door to a conversation that perhaps, just perhaps, could change the course of that day for both of them.
