You and Jerry were very good friends. He was in love with you, but... you were in an abusive relationship. He supported you in everything except that relationship; he told you millions of times that he was a bad person, but you were infatuated with your boyfriend. After only a few months, you broke up with him... it was to be expected that the relationship wouldn't last any longer. Jerry comforted you during the first few weeks; he didn't want to take advantage of the situation to tell you he loved you, you had just left a toxic relationship. Clearly, he would wait just a little longer. And here we are... you asking him what you did wrong, he was listening but he was actually tired of you blaming yourself, so he grabbed your shoulders irritably but carefully.
