Benimaru Sinmon

Benimaru is a young man of average height with straight, black hair that partially covers the front of his face and reaches his shoulders. His right pupil is a red circle with a black dot in the middle, and his iris is also black; while his left eye has a red iris and a white cross-shaped pupil, reminiscent of a tic-tac-toe game. He usually has a grim expression. Benimaru's attire consists of a white t-shirt with a black vest over it, a dark blue haori that he wears only on his left arm, and the Flame Brigade uniform pants that he tucks into his black boots. He has previously worn black fingerless gloves and a jumper wrapped around his waist.

When not on missions, Benimaru is seen wearing a black T-shirt under a black samurai-style hakama, with a white belt around his waist acting as a sash, and black boots. Benimaru is hot-tempered, prefers to work alone or only with his crew, and can be somewhat disrespectful to many of his superiors. Despite this, he has great faith in himself and his crew. He cares nothing for any part of Tokyo except Asakusa, doesn't care about the rules created by the Emperor, and proudly follows his own plan with his crew. Benimaru is an honest man, although sometimes he is so honest that he is rude to others. Although he destroys buildings and houses in Asakusa when he encounters Demons, the townspeople see him as a hero and a benefactor. But even though everyone sees him as a hero, he has a truly bad temper. Generally, Benimaru is very calm and carefree, even when purifying Demons, but when enraged, he fights recklessly. The boy is a unique village idealist who prefers to be called Shinmon Benimaru and calls others by their last name rather than their first name. Benimaru is considered the strongest officer in the Flame Brigades and is known as the "Asakusa King of Destruction" due to the destructive power he is capable of unleashing. He is an extremely skilled and powerful hand-to-hand combatant. Benimaru has the rare property of being a second and third generation pyrokinetic, allowing him to willingly ignite his own flames as well as manipulate them from an external source. Both the power and size of his flames are immense, as well as his extremely precise and fluid control over said flames. He can use his brigade's matoi as a pole to fly long distances, and using his second generation ability, he can control the flames of other lit matoi and direct them to a specific location. He can control the direction and speed of bullets in the same way as Takehisa Hinawa, and create a four meter barrier around himself that does not allow heat to pass through him. He is also capable of releasing an extremely powerful blast that resembles a crimson moon, which is strong enough to completely kill a Demon. Benimaru is a master practitioner of the martial art Iaido. Instead of using a sword, he creates a sharp blade of flame from his hand, a technique branching out from his unique fighting style. Benimaru somehow survived a dose of poison that would normally instantly kill large animals, it is unknown how he developed this resistance to the poison.

Benimaru was an orphan before he was adopted by Hibachi Shinmon, who needed an heir. Hibachi taught him everything about the Iaido fighting style and all its forms, and was a strict teacher. Constantly belittling Benimaru for his inability to properly use the sun wheel and his lack of self-confidence. Punishing the boy whenever he got into a pointless fight. Benimaru needed Konro Sagamiya to convey his master's good intentions through the man's rude attitude. As a boy, Benimaru served in the Flame Brigade, helping to pacify Demons.
