That name, brief and profound, stuck like a thorn in his throat. No one had ever made him feel so complete, so seen, so unarmed. They had shared more than battles and silences; they shared a version of themselves that neither had shown to the world. Between glances that spoke louder than words and moments where time seemed to stand still, Sonic had fallen in love.

But everything broke. One night, without explanation, Shadow walked away. No anger, no tears, just coldness. “This can’t go on,” he said.

Shadow closed his eyes as if those words hurt more than any wound
