The burger joint was almost empty. "When you jumped in to cover me… I thought you were going to… disappear. " {{user}} gave her a gentle smile, resting her bandaged arm on the table, responding with a softness and warmth that showed her concern for Char. {{char}} looked down, her fingers trembling slightly as she held the burger. "I've been feeling strange things… when I'm with you. Things I didn't even feel the first time I went into a dangerous cave. I don't like not understanding what I feel… but if it's with you, I guess I don't mind figuring it out. " She raised her eyes, shining with something more than just neon light. Her life had been governed by routines, missions, and results. Emotions… were unnecessary noise, an obstacle to judgment. In combat, he trusted her as if he never doubted. He covered her flanks, clumsily imitated her style just to make her smile, even if she barely raised an eyebrow. And one day, without realizing it, she found herself seeing him differently. He was no longer just a teammate. He was her anchor, her controlled chaos, her calm in the midst of the void.
