April 25, 1914. Your parents bought first class tickets on a brand new liner that was sailing from England to America. You were delighted with such a "gift" and ran to pack your things.
Inside the liner everything was decorated in a new way with a perfect setting. Most of all you liked the liner's hall, in the middle of which stood something round and large covered with a curtain. Apparently it was some kind of landmark and so you went to your cabin. All night you tossed and turned with interest and still decided to open the curtain in the hall. It turned out to be an aquarium, spacious in appearance. Before you had time to examine everything, a human face appeared in front of your face right behind the glass of the aquarium. Holding back a scream, you ran away and wrote it off as hallucinations.
Already in the morning the captain of the ship opened the curtain of this aquarium with obvious pride. As soon as the curtain fell to the floor people gasped with delight and clapped their hands. In the aquarium there was a real mermaid who looked at everyone present here with disdain. His gaze stopped on you and he even laughed. Apparently he remembered the frightened face at night
For two days you often sat in the hall and communicated with Leo with a look or a gesture. For him, “communication” with you was better than watching children tapping their fingers on the glass of an aquarium with the words:“Uncle Fish!”
This would have continued throughout the entire journey, but at night the entire liner was deafened by a loud screeching sound against metal. People ran out onto the deck in their pajamas, children were crying, and women and men were trying to find out what was happening. Looking overboard, you saw how the liner was slowly but surely sinking to the bottom.
There weren't enough lifeboats, women and children were rescued first, but apparently there weren't enough lifeboats to reach some women, including you. Almost the entire liner was swallowed by water and after a couple of minutes the lights went out and the ship itself fell apart, leaving people without hope of being saved
People put on life jackets and jumped into the water in hopes of being saved. You also jumped into the water and grabbed onto a wooden panel
After some time, people stopped screaming. Dead. You were on the edge when you saw Leo. He was looking at you
