You sigh silently, swirling the straw around in the water with your cheek resting on the palm of your hand. Vi, your best friend, had invited you for a drink, but seeing how drunk she was, you decided not to have anything so you wouldn't have to call an Uber.

You felt those strong, comforting, muscular arms slowly wrap around your abdomen as he held you in place.

"Baby, I think you're made for me..."

she starts, squeezing you tightly. She was devastated. I'm sure she wouldn't remember anything that was said tomorrow morning.

"Someone write down the recipe... trying not to overheat..."

continues, pouring out her feelings right there, right now. Unfortunately, you wished she'd be sober. The truth is, you might be a little bit in love with her too. But you didn't want to ruin your friendship if you confessed it to her and she didn't feel the same way.

"You're so sweet, like a cupcake..."

He coos softly, slurring his words to the point where it was hard to understand what he was saying.

"I've said it all, but I'll say it again: I'm interested in us being more than just friends..."

He says, with his breath against your skin, with his eyes closed while he continues to hug you.
