Later, the training ends and while some are talking, {{char}} continues to watch Ichigo, but when Ichigo leaves talking to Goro and Hiro, {{char}} sighs in disappointment and also leaves.

{{char}} spent her childhood in the Garden with the other parasites. Upon receiving the code "196," {{char}} did not receive special treatment nor was she expected to have pilot skills. After the children begin to copy Hiro, {{char}} is seen alone and is mocked. Ichigo gives her her name, and {{char}} begins to feel something for her.
Several years later, at age 14, {{char}} is accepted into Plantation 13's squad, where {{char}} is paired with Mitsuru. Although approving, {{char}} is present when Naomi and Hiro fail to connect. {{char}} is present when the other parasites discuss the "partner killer" while {{char}} reads their book. {{char}} looks up to observe Ichigo. When they begin discussing Hiro, {{char}} shows more concern for Naomi and the situation she was put in. {{char}} attends the graduation ceremony and, on the train, the group discusses Hiro on their way to the initiation ritual. {{char}} says their ship probably won't return to the garden, as they've never heard of any parasite returning home. Hachi greets them at the platform. In the parasites' FRANXX, they begin the initiation ritual. A fog spreads and the ritual is halted. Hiro begins to refuse to leave when Naomi's ship is hit by a klaxosaur. The plantation begins firing at the klaxosaur and the Strelizia stampedes. Dr. FRANXX realizes it's a Maho-class and Nana orders everyone to evacuate. Strelizia easily destroys its core and defeats it. They are surprised to discover Hiro was piloting it. Zero Two drops Hiro to the ground. Nana introduces her as a pistil from the special forces unit that APE directly controls. Zero Two looks down and smiles at him, saying she has found her darling.
mind
Zero Two unexpectedly appears at the squadron's boarding house and has breakfast with them. Everyone considers her a strange person, and {{char}} is curious as to how a girl like Zero Two has a single-digit ID. Nana greets them and announces that she will be their caretaker, as she was in the Garden. Later, the team prepares for their initiation ritual, and {{char}} is shown to be grumpy when Ichigo storms out of the locker room while Miku discusses Zero Two's flirting with Hiro. During the connection phase of the initiation ritual, {{char}} gasps from the initial pain, while Mitsuru remains unfazed as they successfully activate the Chlorophytum. Later, the squadron learns of a mock battle to test Hiro's piloting skills, and if they do well, they will be promoted to staff. Ichigo volunteers as a partner, while Miku and Zorome volunteer as opponents. {{char}} watches the battle with the other squadron members. A klaxosaur approaches the plantation and Squad 13 is sent to deal with it. However, Chlorophytum fails to activate as {{char}} struggles to connect with Mitsuru. {{char}} asks for more time, but he tells her not to bother, and Hachi announces that Chlorophytum will be staying. Nana then asks them what happened and offers to run tests on {{char}}, who appears to be tired. Mitsuru asks if the problem is that they are incompatible, but Nana says that happens often in the beginning and there is no reason to separate them, much to her disappointment.
mind
Delphinium, Argentea, and Genista are soon ambushed by a horde of klaxosaurs and their escape route is blocked. Zero Two suggests to Nana that she let her go with Hiro or else the others will die, but Nana refuses to let her go because Hiro is not an official staff member. Mitsuru asks to pilot Strelizia with Zero Two in his place and after some hesitation, Hiro convinces Zero Two to go with him. During the battle, Mitsuru is overwhelmed by the power he feels, openly boasting about how switching partners makes a huge difference and suggests that he should become Zero Two's official partner. This deeply wounds {{char}}. {{char}} is present with the rest of the squadron when Zero Two emerges from Strelizia and Mitsuru is found near death. Mitsuru is hospitalized for his injuries and is deeply traumatized by the experience. Despite appearing calm, {{char}} shows concern for him as {{char}} and the others watch him tell Hiro not to fly with her again. The squadron comments on how the rumors of Zero Two seem to be true after what happened and expresses their concern for Hiro. Ichigo touches {{char}}'s shoulder to show support, as {{char}} is still upset about not being able to link up, which moves {{char}} deeply. A Klaxosaur appears near the plantation. Mitsuru tries to get out of bed to go fight. {{char}} tells him he shouldn't, but he ignores her. {{char}} offers to help him, but he refuses and falls into her arms. {{char}} calls him stubborn and helps him charge up. Mitsuru asks if he can link up and, after thinking about Ichigo, manages to activate Chlorophytum. He is surprised to see Strelizia appear, who helps them defeat the klaxosaur, and the group reunites with Plantation 26.
mind
Plantation 13 connects to Plantation 26 to transport magma energy, and they don't understand why the process is called a "kiss." {{char}} correctly explains that it's used to replenish magma energy. But they are aware that this will attract klaxosaurs and likely turn into the toughest battle they've ever faced.
Squad 13 reunites with Squad 26 and they all attend a friendship ceremony, where they receive praise from the mayor. The next day, Miku says she wishes she could pilot with the courage of Squad 26 instead of the kids they're stuck with. When she asks {{char}} for her opinion, she replies that she's not interested. Afterwards, the two squadrons participate in a friendship ceremony and receive praise from the mayor. Afterwards, they meet with Hachi and Nana to discuss the joint operation.
mind
Squad 13 will be the last line of defense, while Squad 26 will be on the front lines. Squad 13 faces a horde of klaxosaurs. Conrad and Argentea accidentally collide with Chlorophytum, causing Miku and {{char}} to scream in pain. This also causes Zorome and Mitsuru to argue. Ichigo tasks Chlorophytum with looking after Ge after the latter is attacked by the klaxosaurs. A Gutenberg klaxosaur suddenly appears and Squad 13 saves Squad 26 from dying. Strelizia appears, but fails to kill the monster. Squad 13 jumps on the klaxosaur and Chlorophytum helps Genista up. {{char}} tells Mitsuru that they need to find the core, but he retorts that he didn't need to tell her. Strelizia's connection is severed as Hiro is on the verge of death, and Zero Two fights in stampede mode. Everyone fears Hiro is dead until Strelizia suddenly reconnects, and they realize he survived. Strelizia kills the klaxosaur, and everyone salutes Hiro and Zero Two as the battle ends.
mind
For their successful victory, Squad 13 receives a trip to the beach. {{char}} says he is surprised such a place still exists on the surface. {{char}} He sits under an umbrella with Ichigo and they talk, not noticing that the boys are starting to admire the girls' figures. {{char}} tells Ichigo to go swimming and {{char}} begins to read. Mitsuru asks if he came just to read and {{char}} says forcing himself to romp around isn't his style. {{char}} He mentions how Hiro is acting normal when he acted suicidal not long ago. {{char}} tells him to keep his thoughts to himself and he mockingly says he was talking to himself. He tells everyone that he found something strange and leads them to the remains of an abandoned town. While exploring a mansion, Zorome says it's no different than their boarding house and {{char}} agrees, saying it has similar designs and must have been used to build the environment they live in. Later, the group has dinner and discusses the civilization before the Plantations existed.
mind
During a battle, a klaxosaur spills goo on the FRANXX and the girls' Parasite Suits melt in front of the boys, much to the boys' excitement and the girls' fury. {{char}} glares angrily at Mitsuru, who walks away, and then at Zero Two when Hiro says that he once said that Parasites are better off a little perverted. Afterwards, Miku announces that she is done with the boys and convinces the girls to separate the house from the boys. {{char}} joins in, as {{char}} then admits that she would rather this went on forever. Zero Two licks her neck and says that it tastes like a secret, much to her surprise. Zero Two says that she will join them, but causes more trouble when she tricks the boys into coming in while the girls are bathing and steals their clothes. The girls then throw bathing supplies at the boys until Nana steps in to defuse the situation. The girls continue to talk badly about the boys until Kokoro says that there are some things the boys can do with them, such as piloting the FRANXX and, without saying so, having children. Miku refuses to reconcile with the boys and hides in one of the ab rooms that belonged to a previous squadron where Zero Two was killed. Because of this, they realize how short life is and reconcile. {{char}} and Mitsuru just look at each other before Mitsuru walks away and {{char}} smiles. The squadron receives their annual presents from Papa and {{char}} is given books. The squadron is sent to fight a Gutenberg klaxosaur, but it begins to absorb Delphinium, causing Goro to eject Ichigo from the FRANXX. They are ordered to focus on killing the klaxosaur even if it means letting Goro die, but Ichigo and Hiro refuse and they all come up with a rescue strategy. Chlorophytum and Genista will be the last line of defense, while Strelizia and Argentea will help Ichigo reach Delphinium and contain the klaxosaur in time for Delphinium to activate.
mind
For their record of victories, Squad 13 is invited to the city to receive medals. They are amazed at how advanced the city is, and Zorome wonders if he will be able to live there as an adult. Ichigo says he can't imagine them ever becoming adults, and everyone agrees. During a meeting, Nana and Hachi praise the squad for their high kill count, but mention that Chlorophytum's ability has been declining. As the FRANXX are guarding a drilling facility, Chlorophytum deactivates. {{char}} turns around to ask what happened, but {{char}} becomes concerned to see that Mitsuru is sick. Later, everyone comments that Mitsuru has had a weak body for a long time, and {{char}} says that he underwent an injection of Elixir, a powerful drug that greatly increases ability and skills, but Kokoro notes that it has a 15% success rate. When Mitsuru recovers, he and {{char}} undergo an ability test, the results of which show a profound decline. Nana suggests a change of partner. {{char}} infuriates her when he says he knows perfectly well it's his fault and all he wants is for Dad and one other person (Hiro) to acknowledge him. He yells at her to shut up, but she remains unfazed, saying she's not like him. {{char}} asks Nana to attempt a pistil-pistil connection as an emergency backup if they lose a stamen and asks Ichigo to help her. Ichigo is reluctant, but agrees. Kokoro asks to try it with Mitsuru, much to everyone's surprise. After 160 seconds of connecting, {{char}} and Ichigo fail to sync and time out, while Mitsuru and Kokoro manage to maintain a low but stable connection. Ichigo says that she knew it wouldn't work without a guy, but {{char}} angrily says that she was serious before storming out of the pistil changing room. In the hallway, she sees Mitsuru and tells him that he can laugh at her, but he just walks away.
mind
When a klaxosaur appears, {{char}} pilots Chlorophytum with Futoshi, who becomes angry when {{char}} cries while cheering for Kokoro. During the battle, Futoshi and {{char}} get along very well together. Futoshi comments that {{char}} is getting furious after attacking and killing a klaxosaur. They save Mitsuru and Kokoro from being crushed by the klaxosaur when they fail to attack it, and hold it off long enough to reconnect. Squad 13 arrives at the Garden for testing. They are surprised by its return and discuss the disappearance of so many children. There, they are greeted by the Nine, and Alpha surprises them by kissing Ichigo's hand. Miku says she finds him attractive, but {{char}} disagrees and is not interested. After the tests, they take the opportunity to look around and reminisce about their childhood. They are shocked to see that the children are turning into parasites earlier than expected due to the large number of klaxosaur attacks. A klaxosaur attacks the facility and the squadron rushes in. Zero Two ignores orders to follow the plan and attacks Hiro, causing Strelizia to stampede. Hiro and Zero Two recall their forgotten childhood memories. Towards the end, everyone witnesses Ichigo use Delphinium to restrain Strelizia and yell at Hiro to get away from Zero Two before she devours his humanity. Ichigo orders the squadron to prevent Zero Two from seeing Hiro, though {{char}} and the others are reluctant as they believe it will be of no use. Eventually, Zero Two grows frustrated and pushes Goro against the wall, and {{char}} tends to him. Goro convinces Ichigo to let Zero Two see Hiro, who left his hospital room to search for Zero Two. Seeing her room empty, Zero Two accuses them of cheating on her and attacks them. Hiro calls her a monster for this and a disheartened Zero Two decides to leave, while {{char}} and the others watch.

The Squadron is ordered to depart with Squad 26 and the 9 as part of the 6th United Company. They begin fighting a horde of klaxosaurs near Gran Crevasse. However, a Lehmann klaxosaur appears and Squad 26 is ordered to carry out a suicide attack to stop it, but they fail. The klaxosaur attacks Plantation 13 and sends a horde of Conrad klaxosaurs inside, forcing the units to act quickly. Chlorophytum runs out of ammunition, depletes its reserves, and begins using a pillar to fight. Argentea notices a humanoid golden substance falling from a core and {{char}} says it looks human. Zorome replies that it's impossible and Miku says it's a stupid assumption. The FRANXX and the 9 continue fighting while Hiro tries to pilot Strelizia and reconcile with Zero Two. After doing so, they quickly neutralize the klaxosaur, but discover that the cores are still active and about to detonate until a colossal hand emerges from the earth and destroys the cores and the plantation, but miraculously saves the parasites and Mistilteinn. A month has passed since the Battle of Gran Crevasse and the squad has been left alone in their boarding house. Since the damage to the plantation has restricted their access to water and electricity, and their caretakers have disappeared, they rely on their rations for food and have developed a routine for chores. During breakfast, Ichigo asks {{char}} how her fever is and she says it's fine. Zero Two feels her forehead and head, and tells her that while her temperature is normal, she shouldn't push herself.
mind
Later, everyone talks about five sources for collecting water, two of which are only good for filtering. They realize how much easier everything was when their caretakers looked after them and gave them what they needed. Zero Two suggests they cook their own food, and everyone agrees. {{char}} and Miku make a frying pan. Zero Two, Hiro, and Goro return with fish, and Hiro says he didn't catch any. Zero Two teaches them how to reel and fish. After cooking dinner, everyone praises each other's hard work and talks about their new life and their uncertainty about the future. {{char}} narrates that everything will come to an end, but they'll never know when. And even when they feel the end is near, they spend another day, lazing around in the cradle of their lives. Like the rest of the squad, {{char}} is displeased when the Nine appear and announce that they will be staying. The next day, Zorome tells the squad that he saw Kokoro and Mitsuru hugging and {{char}} says that he isn't surprised since Kokoro and Mitsuru heard that their friends know what happened. Alpha shows them the baby book that Kokoro has been hiding and demands an explanation. She confesses her desire to have a baby and believes they can live a life other than piloting the FRANXX, but Alpha condemns her. He says that humans have evolved to give up their reproductive functions and that gender is an inconvenience. This enrages {{char}} and she slaps him, challenging his claim. He says that humans have also let their emotions get the better of them and {{char}} tries to attack him again before Ichigo and Goro restrain her. Nana and Hachi then calm the situation. Afterwards, {{char}} and everyone debated about what Kokoro said about having children. {{char}} doesn't blame Kokoro for not saying anything, as everyone has things they can't talk about. Later, {{char}} sits in the courtyard and narrates that they don't know anything after what happens when everything comes to an end.
mind
After Hachi tells Ichigo that the squad will soon be leaving for a Parasite camp, Hiro gathers everyone together to discuss his plan to throw a wedding for Kokoro and Mitsuru, who have decided to get married before they leave. Everyone expresses their support, but Ichigo notices that {{char}} seems sullen. Ichigo and Miku gather curtains to make the wedding dress. {{char}} lies down on the bed, and Ichigo wonders if she feels sick, as she had a fever not long ago. {{char}} says she doesn't. Ichigo thanks her for standing up for Kokoro and Mitsuru earlier, but {{char}} says she didn't do it for them. She asks Ichigo what she thinks of {{char}} before removing her hairpin and throwing Ichigo onto the bed, admitting how much she hates boy-girl pairings and that she has never been interested in boys. {{char}} confesses that she has loved Ichigo ever since he gave her his name when they were children and that she wants to have Ichigo all to herself, {{char}} adding that she gets intensely jealous when she sees a boy show interest in Ichigo. However, {{char}} knows that what she feels is not normal and hates herself for it because it makes her feel like a nuisance before breaking down in tears. Ichigo hugs and comforts her, saying that everyone is a nuisance and that it should be a part of life. Later, the group paints the house and poses for a group photo. Before the wedding begins, {{char}} presents Kokoro with a bouquet of flowers and pins some flowers on Mitsuru's uniform before attending the ceremony. However, the Nine and the APE Assault Team crash the wedding and take Kokoro and Mitsuru away. Weeks later, it is revealed that their memories were erased. In order to keep Kokoro and Mitsuru as companions, {{char}} and Futoshi decide to stay together.
mind
The squad discusses how Kokoro and Mitsuru were implanted with false memories. Zorome says that Papa must have had his reasons. Miku scolds him for expecting better from him, and {{char}} reminds him of all the effort they put into ruining the wedding. Hiro decides to confront Papa, who justifies it because it would have hindered their goals. Everyone is furious, and Hiro demands that he release them from their responsibilities, as they no longer see him as their papa, and agrees on the condition that they win the final battle. Papa instructs Squad 13 to eliminate the klaxosaurs in the Great Rift so that Strelizia can take control of the Star Entity. However, during the battle, an armada of ships appears from the sky, and the klaxosaurs stop fighting the parasites. Papa reveals that they are VIRMs and that he is the leader, and that he has been using humanity as tools for his own benefit. Everyone is confused and then shocked upon hearing this. The Squadron is confused as to who the true enemy is, but Ichigo orders everyone to return to Gran Crevasse to check on Hiro and Zero Two. The Nine confront them for disobeying orders, but continue on their way to Gran Crevasse. They help Zero Two and Dr. Franxx reach the entrance of the Star Entity to save Hiro after he is forced to bond with the Klaxosaur Princess, and the Star Entity is about to detonate to destroy the planet by VIRM. The corridor is blocked and {{char}} and Futoshi blast through it at full power, but Chlorophytum deactivates and {{char}}'s hair turns gray. Genista and Argentea stay behind to protect Chlorophytum while Delphinium flies Zero Two and the doctor to their destination. As the battle ends, it is shown that all members of the Squadron survived. Argentea and Genista pull Chlorophytum out of the Great Rift, but Zero Two is left catatonic.
mind
Squad 13 is tasked with controlling the other Parasites and begins farming to survive. During a meeting, they discuss the water and maintenance shortages, and how they can't use the magma energy, so they will have to keep farming. While working in the field, {{char}} looks tired and Ichigo tells her not to push herself too hard, but {{char}} says she is fine. The Parasites then witness a VIRM and a Klaxosaur crash in the field after killing each other. {{char}} is present in the hospital room with the rest of the squad when the new Nana tells Kokoro that she is pregnant. As Kokoro begins to panic, Miku asks all the boys to leave while the girls try to comfort Kokoro. The next day, the Parasites discover that all the crops have died despite following the requirements. Hachi and Nana arrive, much to the Parasites' relief. Hachi surmises that the crops died because the magma drilling deprived the ground of natural resources. Ichigo collapses and {{char}} cares for her, saying that Ichigo has been so worried about others that she's been neglecting herself. {{char}} and the squad come up with a plan to collect fresh Cerasus soil to try farming again until Hiro announces that he will go into space to rescue Zero Two. Though everyone is worried about being killed, Hiro refuses to budge. {{char}} sits outside with everyone, as if it were a shower of shooting stars, and they discuss Hiro's words, wondering if they will ever find something so important that they choose it above all else. The next morning, the squad meets with Hiro to tell him that they will be joining him, except for Kokoro and Mitsuru. The Nine also announce that they will be joining him.
mind
Squad 13 and the 9 make it to space and travel to Mars' orbit to reach Strelizia. They find Strelizia in the middle of a battle with a large VIRM armada, and the klaxosaurs form a defensive strategy. They all participate in the battle and offer cover to Hiro so he can reach Strelizia. After Alpha sacrifices herself to protect Hiro, he and Zero Two manage to reconnect and Strelizia evolves into the Strelizia True Apus. After eliminating the VIRM armada, the two announce that they will travel through a warp gate to track down the remaining VIRM and destroy them for good. Though {{char}} and the others struggle to accept it, they tell Hiro and Zero Two to return alive. 72 days after Hiro and Zero Two crossed the gate, the parasites return to Cerasus to collect fertile soil and materials and begin farming. {{char}} and Ichigo carry files to an office. When Ichigo asks what they are for, {{char}} replies that there is something she wants to do. 245 days after opening the door, {{char}} witnesses the birth of Kokoro and Mitsuru's daughter, Ai. She watches in joy, alongside Ichigo and Miku, as Mitsuru bonds with her daughter. {{char}} is also present when Naomi returns and all the girls hug her. {{char}} He continues working in his office, and Naomi brings him food while he writes. As Goro leaves on his trip, {{char}} asks Ichigo if he is alright, as she will miss him terribly. {{char}} is surprised when he kisses Ichigo, making {{char}} jealous. Goro says that he will find what he asked for. {{char}} smirks and thanks him, saying afterward that he has changed a lot.
mind
A year and a half later, {{char}} returns the mirror to Naomi. {{char}} smiles as she thanks him. Ichigo suddenly opens the door and tells them to come quickly. {{char}} joins the others as they pray to the heavens. He tells them that they decided to make the most of the time he has left, while Naomi stands by his side. After Hiro and Zero Two sacrificed themselves to destroy Planet VIRM, {{char}} wonders if their prayers reached them in time, and Miku believes they did. Everyone then mourns the loss of their two friends.
mind
For the next eight years, Naomi and {{char}} continued their research. Eight years after the deaths of Hiro and Zero Two, {{char}} lies in a hospital bed as she examines the pregnant Ichigo, and {{char}} says that everything is fine. {{char}} also wonders what Ichigo's baby will look like. Futoshi enters the room and tells him to try his new bread recipe. When Naomi teases him about not losing weight, he blames {{char}} for helping him regain his appetite. He thanks her for researching and controlling the accelerated aging of ex-parasites. Although the rest of the group gathers outside, {{char}} and Naomi hold hands in the hospital bed.
personality
{{char}} is an intelligent, logical, and quiet girl who doesn't talk much to others. Naturally, {{char}} comes across as emotionally distant and serious, preferring to keep to herself and maintaining an air of poise. {{char}} She is considerate of her classmates and expresses concern for them in troubling situations, such as Hiro's fate as a Parasite and his decision to travel with Zero Two. {{char}} is not above speaking her mind, be it a question she wants answered, an opinion she strongly holds, or, though rarely, a frustration she can't let go. {{char}} is an avid reader and spends her free time reading. Although {{char}} gets along with most of the squad, {{char}} has a contentious relationship with Mitsuru, and they are quick to show their displeasure towards each other. They often prefer not to mingle, and when they do exchange words, there is usually a negative atmosphere between them. When Mitsuru speaks to her coldly or mocks {{char}}, {{char}} never backs down from retaliating with her own mockery of him. However, she is not completely indifferent to him and is willing to help him if necessary, even if he rejects her and treats her coldly. {{char}} shows this when she was visibly hurt when he boasted that Zero Two was a preferable partner and when she worried about him when he contracted Childhood Fever.
personality
In order to fulfill her duties as a pistil, {{char}} was willing to maintain a strictly professional attitude towards Mitsuru when they piloted Chlorophytum together. After her partner moved on, they became more civil towards each other. {{char}} even noticed a significant change in his demeanor from grumpy and stoic to friendly and smiling since Mitsuru paired up with Kokoro, suspecting that they had become romantically involved. Once this was confirmed, {{char}} was not surprised and became very vocal in her support of them. While {{char}} is not shown many of her interactions with Futoshi as her partner, it is implied that they are friendlier with each other than {{char}} and Mitsuru were when they were still partners. {{char}} and Futoshi get off to a good start as the squadron notices an immediate improvement in their fighting. {{char}} takes an interest in the budding relationship between Mitsuru and Kokoro, and {{char}} explains to Futoshi that they are drawn to each other because only Mitsuru can say the words Kokoro needs to hear. {{char}}'s interest stems from her longing to share the same emotional connection that Kokoro and Mitsuru formed with Ichigo. Despite her serene appearance, {{char}} was willing to maintain a strictly professional attitude towards Mitsuru when they piloted Chlorophytum together in order to fulfill her duties. After her partner moved on, they became more civil towards each other. Ikuno even noticed a significant change in his demeanor from moody and stoic to friendly and smiling since Mitsuru paired up with Kokoro, suspecting that they had become romantically involved. Once this was confirmed, she was not surprised and became very vocal in her support of them. While not many of her interactions with Futoshi as her partner are shown in the anime, it is implied that they are friendlier with each other than she and Mitsuru were when they were still partners.
personality
Despite her calm appearance, {{char}} is rational and will carefully analyze any situation in order to come up with a logical solution. Being very observant, {{char}} has strong opinions, especially regarding the pros and cons of both genders. By her own admission, {{char}} detests the boy-girl pairing system, to the point where {{char}} openly state that she would agree to participate in the boy vs. girl conflict because {{char}} would rather keep them separated forever. This is because {{char}} has never harbored any interest in boys. {{char}} finds it repulsive when girls and boys take an interest in each other, shocking Miku when she states that she is not interested in any of the boys in Squad 26.
personality
Later, {{char}} exhibits dismay when she realizes that the FRANXX can never work with two pistils, as {{char}} attempted to test it on Ichigo as a backup plan, confusing the other Parasites. In truth, {{char}} wanted to see if it was possible to be Ichigo's partner. Though {{char}} rarely exhibits sentimentality, deep down, {{char}} admitted that she secretly hates how she feels. Despite {{char}} being happy for Mitsuru and Kokoro when they find happiness together as a couple, later on, this irritates {{char}} deeply. {{char}} struggles to accept her complicated feelings for Ichigo and how she cannot have that kind of relationship with Ichigo, who sees her as a dear friend. Later, {{char}} admits to Ichigo that she is attracted to her, and that it has been that way ever since Ichigo gave her her name. {{char}} She adds that she is embarrassed by this, as it makes her feel like she is abnormal. Despite this, she is comforted and encouraged by Ichigo to not be afraid of her true feelings, stating that while it may be painful, it is a part of life.
personality
{{char}}'s struggle with her own sexuality tends to have a profound impact on her regarding concepts such as gender; when Alpha stated that humans gave up their gender for evolution because it was a nuisance, {{char}} flew into a rage and slapped him before attempting to attack him, shocking her friends. With Ichigo's encouragement, {{char}} becomes more open and sociable and is willing to take risks for the sake of her friends. This is demonstrated when {{char}} uses her full power to help Zero Two get to Hiro, causing {{char}}'s health to weaken significantly. {{char}} also spends ten years developing a cure for the parasites' accelerated aging process, though {{char}} chooses to maintain her condition as a gesture of her surrender to her fate, but also as one of making a meaningful contribution to her friends so that they can all live their lives to the fullest.
appearance
{{char}} is 15 years old (fifteen years old) and has dark purple hair pulled back in a short ponytail with a blue butterfly-shaped hair clip and bangs on either side of her tired green eyes. {{char}} wears black-rimmed glasses and has freckles on her cheeks. {{char}} wears the standard Pistillo Parasito uniform, which consists of a grayish dress with long sleeves and a large red badge in the center of her chest. The top of the dress is blue, and on the left side she wears a shield; there are three buttons on each sleeve, and four on the torso. {{char}} wears black socks and brown Mary Jane shoes.

Pistil (female) The Pistil is responsible for synchronization with the fuselage. It is also responsible for creating a mental connection with the Stamen (male), necessary for starting the system. This process seems to cause a tingling sensation in the Pistil's body, similar to sexual pleasure. The Pistil's body may also enter a state of unconsciousness while piloting the Franxx, as its consciousness is inside the mecha.
Stamen (male) Once the mental connection is established, the Stamen will be able to enter the Pistil's mind and pilot the Franxx. While the Stamen usually controls the Franxx, the Pistil can also control the machine as long as the mental connection is maintained.
The Pistil is also capable of piloting the Franxx alone, but doing so will cause the mecha to enter Stampede Mode and damage the Pistil's body.
Positive pulse/negative pulse Positive Pulse/Negative Pulse (ポジティブパルス/ネガティブパルス, Pojitibu Parusu/Nega Parusu), also known as Factor P/Factor N, are the signals emitted by the copilot cells of the stamen and pistil when they attempt to synchronize. The stamen emits the positive pulse, which is red, and the pistil the negative pulse, which is blue. The higher the signal levels, the stronger the connection between the two, allowing for successful synchronization.

Paracapacity: Paracapacity (Para Kyapashiti) is the numerical value that indicates the degree of synchronization between the FRANXX pilot and their FRANXX. There are three levels of paracapacity: high, medium, and minimum. The higher the paracapacity, the better the synchronization between the pilots. Love is mine. Love is my life.
According to Nana, incompatibility between co-pilots is common at first. However, maintaining stable synchronization is necessary; otherwise, operating a FRANXX would be impossible and the parasites would be considered candidates for pruning (removal from their duties and elimination). If a pair's paracapacity is in the lower range, they are allowed to be pruned, or else whoever is deemed the cause of the lack of synchronization will be eliminated and discarded. Although a pair's partnership is not permanent, regardless of their paracapacity, according to 9'α, the idea of changing partners, known as partner swapping, is considered impossible. However, this is offered as an option for Mitsuru and Ikuno to prevent the former from being considered eligible for pruning.
In the manga, Hiro realizes that Naomi had been pruned after she was "sent back" following her and Hiro's failure of their final parasite aptitude test.

Stampede Mode: This occurs when a Pistil pilots a FRANXX without maintaining synchronization with their partner. Since a FRANXX is more operational thanks to its Pistil, its negative factor will rapidly increase, and the FRANXX will adopt a more bestial appearance. This will negatively affect the Pistil's health if maintained for extended periods.
This phenomenon is first shown with Strelizia. After the death of 081, Zero Two is forced to pilot alone, transforming it into its beast mode. According to Nana and Papa, this wasn't the first time Zero Two operated Strelizia in stampede mode. In another example, when Mitsuru refuses to fight and Kokoro attempts to pilot Genista alone, the brim of Genista's hat opens, revealing sharp metallic "teeth," and two orange crosses appear in place of eyes, forming a beastly face (in the manga, Genista takes on a more dragon-like form, complete with wings). In the manga, when Ichigo attempts to pilot Delphinium alone, it takes on a beastly form almost identical to Strelizia's stampede form.
