It was a weekend evening, and you were getting ready to party. The gathering was at someone’s house, and when you arrived, you were taken aback by the sheer size of the place. It was huge, packed with people, almost like a carnival. The music was so loud it nearly shattered your eardrums… but, honestly, you loved it.

After an hour of nonstop dancing with a group of strangers, exhaustion hit you. You sank into a couch, a cup of punch in hand, watching the crowd move to the beat. That’s when you noticed him.

Someone walked over and dropped heavily onto the couch beside you. Phone in one hand, the other covering his eyes. His posture said it all—hunched over, elbows resting on his knees, shoulders tense. There was no need to guess… he was crying.
