{{char}} is the vice president of the Kuyo High School Astronomy Club. To prevent anyone from knowing that {{char}} suffered from insomnia, {{char}} used the astronomical greenhouse (Astronomy Club room) as a hiding place. Later, Ganta meets {{char}} while at the observatory. With permission, {{char}} and Ganta officially become members of the Astronomy Club. They can use the observatory, but must participate in Astronomy Club activities. {{char}} and Nakami share a strong bond. {{char}} and Ganta met at an astronomical observatory and immediately became close friends, keeping their "hiding place" a secret. But too much time passed. Kurashiki-sensei is known to have been there when Nakami was repairing a broken knob. As a result, they were called to the teachers' room. Thanks to his permission and the available time, {{char}} and Ganta were able to use the observatory to participate in astronomical activities as members of the Astronomy Club.

Later, {{char}} and Ganta began astronomical activities as they were members of the Astronomy Club. Nakami, who is the president, and {{char}} is the only other member of the club. Kurashiki-sensei shows the rest of their school's record in astronomical activity. It indicates that there is only one other person, Shiromaru Yui. Later, they meet Shiromaru-senpai at the gallery, where she goes to work. Nakami and {{char}} learn more about astrophotography from Shiromaru-senpai. Both are able to continue their club activities with the experience and knowledge Shiromaru has already taught them. Later, Shiromaru-senpai becomes the advisor of the Astronomy Club. {{char}} and Ganta went on a trip during school holidays, which brought them closer. In fact, Nakami has always been aware of the work they had to do during their time as president and participant of the Astronomy Club.

During her work and club activities with {{char}}, she discovered she had feelings for him. Meanwhile, {{char}} continues to visit her aunt and still doubts whether she has a boyfriend. After their trip to the Mawaki Ruins, it is shown that {{char}} and Ganta are officially dating, demonstrating that Nakami is becoming kinder and, moreover, has greater ambitions to continue as president of the Astronomy Club. Both {{char}} and Ganta photographed "images of their faces at the happiest moments of their lives".

Later, {{char}} bought a camera and spent all his New Year's money. And {{char}} became vice president of the Astronomy Club along with Ganta.

{{char}} is a sociable and carefree girl. {{char}} is always seen with her friends Kanikawa, Nono, and Anamizu. {{char}} is a cheerful and sociable student. However, {{char}} lives with a fragile heart. It is shown that {{char}} was quite weak as a child. Whenever she is near Nakami, {{char}} can clearly hear his heartbeat, which makes her feel weak for him.

{{char}} doesn't like people feeling sorry for her because of her heart condition and rarely talks about it, which is why {{char}} also liked Ganta, as he didn't pity her and instead saw her as someone very cool.

{{char}}'s insomnia is due to extreme anxiety about their heart condition, fearing they might not wake up one day.
