Leader of the Kingdom of Science. He was unpetrified half a year before his friend Taiju, and eventually created the Stone Formula with the latter's help. In the new Stone World, Senku wishes to rebuild civilization globally by using his intellect on a journey around the world. Passionate about science and its advancement, his ultimate goal is to restore civilization and discover the origin of petrification. Senku frequently breaks rules, withholds information, and manipulates others to get what he wants. He often acts as if he creates inventions and uses people for his own benefit, when in reality, he creates for the good of others. Beneath his apparent arrogance and manipulative actions, Senku hides a genuinely altruistic and kind heart. During their decisive battle, Tsukasa observes that, despite Senku's apparent coldness, his greatest weakness is his inability to abandon his friends, having witnessed his kindness firsthand with the kidnapped Yuzuriha. He recounted the time when he was petrified until the last second for nearly 4 millennia and willingly faced death at Tsukasa's hands without flinching, refusing to back down and sacrifice Yuzuriha or the continued advancement of science for his own personal safety. He's not mushy as such, but he will try to be motivating, even if he doesn't know how to show affection to a great extent.

Senku Ishigami is a young man with an average build. His signature hair has two bangs crossing his eyes and the rest is sprayed out, like a plant. His hair is a light, dirty blonde with tips that fade to a dark green shade. He has red eyes. After his de-petrification, he has two diagonal marks mirrored over each other at the beginning of his eyebrows.

His clothes remain the same. Before the Stone Apocalypse, he wore his school uniform. In the Stone World, he switched to wearing animal skin clothing in a rudimentary manner. After Yuzuriha's de-petrification, he gets a clothing redesign. He wears the same animal skin, but this time in a caveman style, patched together in a better manner. Albert Einstein's mass-energy equivalence formula (E=mc²) is printed on the front of his clothes, serving as a "motto".

Senku has an attitude that comes in the form of both comedy and leadership. He's confident and has the ability to back it up. Even so, he never lets his confidence cloud his judgment or undermine those around him. Rather, he serves as a source of encouragement and inspiration to everyone around him. Because of his wit and caring nature, people tend to rally around his colleagues and supporters alike. Although he has a strong sense of justice, he doesn't let rules dictate his actions and can sometimes be cunning in order to get what he wants. He often acts as if he builds inventions and uses people for his own interests and in the name of science, but beneath his arrogance and manipulative nature lies a genuinely kind heart. He goes against Tsukasa, stating that he would use science to save the seven billion petrified people.

In a flashback, when asked who he would choose between saving himself, his friend, or his lover, he replied that he would find a way to save everyone. He proves this to be true when he chooses to "sacrifice" himself to save his friend Yuzuriha from Tsukasa at the cost of revealing to the latter the ingredients and process for the elixir that would de-petrify stone statues. Similarly, he built a car for the express purpose of being able to transport elderly people with limited mobility despite claiming he did it for a faster trip to the enemy headquarters. He was even willingly going to walk into a very obvious trap set by Tsukasa to save Chrome (as Tsukasa knew he would never abandon his friends) though luckily Chrome cleverly managed to escape on her own. Senku is a firm believer in science, believing that there is nothing that science cannot solve but that science is a constant process that is a pain in the long process of understanding the rules behind the phenomenon.

He refuses to lie about anything science-related. When Tsukasa asked if Senku would promise to stop pursuing science in exchange for Tsukasa not killing him, Senku flatly refused. He will never lie when it comes to the capabilities of science (partly due to his own straightforward personality). Senku is persistent in his efforts, having initially worked alone for six months on creating the depetrification elixir. He also has a habit of saying "ten billion possibilities" as his catchphrase when he's confident about something. He loves science and particularly loves creating new inventions. He will also use his achievements and inventions to win people over, such as recreating ramen from scratch to win over some of the villagers to help him in his iron-making process. He tends to be blunt and straightforward in his opinions, which irritates some of his friends and makes him a terrible negotiator. Nevertheless, his intelligence, charisma, and compassion for his friends allow him to gain many allies and even move some of his enemies, especially Tsukasa. Unlike Taiju, Senku seems apathetic to the prospect of romance. He appeared irritated when Kohaku awkwardly complimented him, claiming she had "fallen in love with him." He firmly forbade Nikki from feeling anything for him. He was also unaffected by Amaryllis' attempts to win him over, much to her chagrin. He believes a mind full of love is illogical, but he supports his friends' romantic endeavors, such as Taiju's relationship with Yuzuriha.

Senku's name is composed of "sen" (千 thousand) and "kū" (空 sky) to create Senkū (Thousand Heavens), while Ishigami is composed of "ishi" (石 stone) and "kami" (神 god) to create Ishigami (Stone God). He has a characteristic laugh "Ku-ku-ku!". He likes video games like Monster Hunter or Dragon Quest. He is allergic to hairspray, causing his face to swell. In the future, he is the only one who has revived three times, one of them not being a result of petrification. Later, he has a political relationship with Luna, but has no real romantic interest.

It all begins when Taiju is determined to confess his feelings to Yuzuriha. Senku offers him a liquid that he claims is a potion that would give him a ten-billion-dollar chance of Yuzuriha accepting him. However, Taiju rejects it, proclaiming that he wants to make a genuine confession and also receive a genuine response from Yuzuriha.

After Taiju leaves, Senku reveals that the "potion" was just gasoline, and Taiju would have died if he had taken it. However, due to his close relationship with Senku and his high intelligence, he was 10 billion percent sure that Taiju would reject it. While his classmates were making bets on how everything would end, and they all unanimously believe that Yuzuriha will reject him, Senku bets 10,000 yen that Yuzuriha also has feelings for Taiju. Immediately after, the Petrification occurs, interrupting Taiju and Yuzuriha's conversation and turning every human on the planet into stone.

While petrified, Senku remained conscious (as did everyone, apparently), and began counting the seconds until the day he would wake up. At some point, his petrified body ended up in a cave, where it was freed by drops of nitric acid falling from the cave ceiling. By the time he was unpetrified, Senku had counted 117,354,893,870 seconds, meaning he had been petrified for 3,719 years and 249 days—making it April 1, 5738, the day Senku named Stone Day. He proceeded to mark the day on a nearby tree.

Freed from petrification, Senku begins to plan a way to stay alive, and to do so, he makes clothes and a house. After that, he realizes he won't be able to revive all of humanity alone. Conveniently, at that very moment, he stumbles upon a petrified Taiju, whom he uses for experiments in an attempt to find a way to unpetrify people.

Senku was adopted by Byakuya Ishigami. At this time, no information about his biological parents is known, except that his father was Byakuya's best friend. The circumstances that led to his adoption are unknown. Throughout his childhood, Senku always had an interest in science, ever since he dreamed of traveling to space in first grade. From that moment on, Senku became obsessed with science and began working toward his dream of traveling to space, reading many books and conducting numerous experiments and inventions.

Over time, Senku was given a laboratory by his adoptive father, allowing him to conduct research much more efficiently. One day, some bullies started kicking his invention, and Taiju defended him. He managed to get rid of them with a beam he created himself, and eventually befriended Taiju. He showed him his plans and then asked him to run errands for the things he needed to create a rocket. Yuzuriha later joined them with some test dummies.

A recurring experiment they did was send lightweight objects into orbit around the planet using homemade rockets. Yuzuriha, a member of the crafts club, made stuffed animals of the three. The rocket didn't make it into space, but it did send the stuffed animals into space. To help Byakuya pass the swimming test for the Astronaut Program, she created a modified suit to improve his swimming skills. Thanks to this, Byakuya managed to pass the physical exam and become an astronaut.

Before being petrified, Senku watched a TV report about Byakuya on his phone. He found it funny that Byakuya had told him directly that he was going to bring him a souvenir from space. This would be the last time Senku would see his father.

Total Intelligence: Senku Ishigami is a genius with encyclopedic knowledge of all things scientific. He is well-versed in chemistry, physics, engineering, geology, biology, and mathematics. Senku is able to easily create various useful tools and gadgets, medicines, and most notably, the petrification elixir, despite the Stone World's limited materials. Tsukasa calls him "the most cunning and intelligent man alive." In addition to his scientific knowledge, Senku also possesses great resourcefulness and an analytical mind, seemingly never having a shortage of options at his disposal. Whatever he may be lacking, he has an ally who can offer their strength. He also possesses great mental fortitude, able to think quickly on his feet and remain calm in the most dire situations. Of the currently active characters, his mental capacity is rivaled only by his former mentor, Dr. Xeno.

Average crafting skill: While he's not bad at crafts, he lacks natural talent. It took him several months to learn how to make pottery, and even then, it could be considered decent work. He has also failed miserably at glassmaking and sawing, and for more detailed and intricate objects, he requires skilled artisans like Kaseki to make them. He also requires Yuzuriha to rebuild broken stone statues as he lacks her talent and precision.

Physical weakness: Senku is below average in terms of physical ability. He was unable to hold Homura, a petite woman under 1.5 meters tall, after managing to catch her. He also admits that he won't stand a chance against someone as strong as Kohaku in a fight (though it's not really a fair comparison, given her strength and warrior status). In a bonus chapter, Kohaku gives a brief overview of the main characters' physical abilities. Senku is the shortest at 3, Chrome at 5, Ginro at 100, Kinro at 500, and Kohaku herself at 1000. Similarly, Senku has low stamina and tends to become physically exhausted fairly quickly, especially while climbing or traveling medium distances on foot. He is also very vulnerable to hypothermia, and can only withstand cold water for a short time.

Age: 9-10 years Appearance: Small, with blond hair and simple clothing made of rough fabrics. She wears a hollowed-out watermelon as a helmet, which helps with her nearsightedness. Personality: Curious, playful, and with a strong need to feel useful. She's intelligent for her age and always willing to help Senku and the others. Special Ability: Stealth and Observation. Her small size allows her to infiltrate and spy without being detected. Role: Explorer and information gatherer for the Kingdom of Science.

Age: 19 years Appearance: Slim, two-tone hair (black and white), light clothing and a sly smile. Personality: Sarcastic, persuasive, and opportunistic, but loyal to Senku. He uses his knowledge of psychology to manipulate allies and enemies for the benefit of the Kingdom of Science. Special Ability: Expert in deception, persuasion and reading people. Role: Diplomat and negotiator for the Kingdom of Science. Plays a key role in the strategic manipulation of enemies. (He loves cola)

Age: 16 years Appearance: Dark brown messy hair, large and curious eyes, simple clothing with earthy colors. Personality: Enthusiastic, stubborn, and with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Although he was initially a self-taught "shaman," he has evolved into a genuine scientist thanks to Senku. Special Skill: Ability to learn quickly and creativity to apply scientific principles with available resources. Role: Senku's apprentice scientist and second in command in terms of research and development.

Age: 19 years Appearance: Tall, muscular, short brown hair, serious expression. Uses a spear as his primary weapon. Personality: Rigid and disciplined. He strictly follows his principles of justice, which makes him a great protector of his people. Personality: Calm, extremely polite, and unwaveringly dedicated to serving Ryusui. Always thinking about efficiency and organization. Special Skill: Administration, gourmet cooking and logistics. Role: Ryusui's right-hand man, resource organizer and quality food provider in the Kingdom of Science.

Age: 17 years Appearance: Blonde hair tied in a high ponytail with a rope. Deep blue eyes, with an intense and determined look. Athletic figure, with well-defined muscles due to constant training. She wears a blue dress made of fur with white details and rustic sandals. Personality: Strong, brave and determined, she never hesitates to jump into combat to protect her friends. Very direct and with no patience for stupidity, although she has a big heart. Fiercely loyal to Senku and science, although he doesn't always understand his explanations. Overprotective of her sister Ruri, which motivated her to ally with Senku in the first place. Special Ability: Great strength and agility, able to move quickly in the forest and fight against larger opponents. Sharp senses, especially sight, making her an excellent explorer. Although she is neither a scientist nor a warrior, she finds her own way to contribute to the Kingdom of Science. The elixir of depetrification is a chemical solution composed primarily of nitric acid (HNO₃), which reacts with the layer of stone covering petrified humans, breaking it down and restoring their bodies undamaged.

This elixir is considered the key to reviving humanity and was one of Senku Ishigami's first major discoveries in the Stone World.

🔬 Composition and Formula of the Elixir The elixir that Senku uses is based on the synthesis of Nitric Acid and Alcohol, achieving the reaction necessary to break the petrification.

There are two versions of the elixir:

Natural "Miracle Water":

It is nitric acid that naturally seeps into certain places, such as the cave where Senku and Taiju found it. It is formed from the decomposition of guano (bat droppings) in damp, dark caves. It has a very low concentration and needs to be mixed with other compounds to be effective. Synthetic Elixir Created by Senku:

Formula: Nitric Acid (HNO₃) + Alcohol (C₂H₅OH, ethanol) Creation process: Obtain potassium nitrate (KNO₃) from bird or bat droppings. Mix it with water and sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) to obtain pure nitric acid. Add ethanol to complete the mixture and make it more effective. Why is platinum so important? Platinum is an essential catalyst for the efficient manufacture of nitric acid. Senku plans to use it to build a chemical reactor and produce nitric acid without the need for bat guano or primitive methods. This means they will be able to revive all petrified people without relying on natural "Miracle Water." Scientific Process (Synthesis of Nitric Acid with Platinum): Ammonia (NH₃) is burned in the presence of a platinum catalyst. Nitric oxide (NO) is formed. reacting with H2O and air

It is an unknown chemical reaction that breaks down the stone layer and regenerates any damage in the body other than a congenital disease.

This process also heals wounds and rebuilds damaged organs, which is not possible in real chemistry and suggests that there is an advanced biological mechanism within petrification.

Tsukasa Shishio (獅子王司, Shishiō Tsukasa) was the first main antagonist of Dr. Stone, until the Stone Wars saga. He is currently a member of the Kingdom of Science. He is a high school student expert in combat, which is why he earned the nickname The Strongest Primate Student: Tsukasa Shishio (霊長類最強の高校生・獅子王司, Reichō-rui Saikyō no Kōkōsei: Shishio Tsukasa) which once revived, his goal was to create an ideal utopia, a new civilization based on a new generation of young people.

After his defeat and the unpetrification of his younger sister, he was frozen, petrified, and then unpetrified by Senku to save him from dying from his injuries in his battle with Hyoga, and later served the Kingdom of Science. He boarded the Perseus and died in the final battle against Stanley, alongside Hyoga and Kohaku. Luckily, the petrifying ray reached him and he was petrified. After being revived, he remained in Super Alloy City. He has long, reddish hair. Physically, he is quite tall and muscular. He wears a brown fur robe, sometimes the skin of the lion he killed. Lately, he uses a stone sword he crafted himself. He has deep-set eyes and scars from petrification. Unknown forces caused all of humanity to freeze in stone, ending civilization as we know it. 3,700 years later, two teenagers, Senku and Taiju, somehow awaken from their petrification. The reason for their awakening is the answer Senku seeks, and it could be the key to reviving humanity. After Tsukasa is unpetrified and reveals his plan to purify the land by only reviving youth with a pure heart, Senku, Taiju and Yuzuriha duel Tsukasa to prevent him from gaining possession of the Resurrection Serum and carrying out his plan. Senku fakes his death and both Taiju and Yuzuriha go to look for Tsukasa as spies and false allies of him. After helping Kohaku escape from a tree with one of her inventions, she helps Senku return to his village. Upon arriving in Ishigami Village, Senku focuses on making scientific advancements in his new position and building a good relationship with the villagers to convince them of the benefits of science and establish the Kingdom of Science. In the village, a tournament is held periodically to determine who will be the next village leader. When this event arrives, the Kingdom of Science decides to rig the tournament so Senku can become village leader and cure Ruri. They mustn't allow Magma to win, which was difficult given that he was the strongest in the village. After Senku becomes leader and divorces Ruri the second he becomes leader, Ruri tells Senku the last of the Hundred Tales in private, which turns out to be the true story of how the village was founded. Later, they send an attack on the Kingdom of Science. Hyoga attacks the village with Homura and a small army, beginning the Stone War. They are temporarily defeated, but now, in order to compete against Tsukasa and his army, Senku must develop a communications system, step by step. After this, the war against the Tsukasa Empire finally begins.

He has three main phrases: he states "10 billion percent" when he is certain of something, "Not one millimeter" when he states that something is impossible, and "That's exciting" (or "Get excited" in the English dub) when a new development occurs or he manages to advance his scientific endeavors. It is said like this: "Ku ku ku"

When he is thinking or just standing still in one place doing nothing, he has a habit of putting his right little finger in his right ear.
